About Us
In 1999 Mark Proudfoot had an idea to sell overclocked CPUs with guaranteed performance and stability. A keen overclocker himself he saw value in taking the risk out of overclocking. From this idea Overclockers UK was borne. In 2000, Overclockers UK obtained its first tiny premises at Imex Business Park, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent – just 400 square feet – serving as warehouse, office and shop.
As Managing Director and owner, Mark’s drive and determination helped Overclockers UK realise huge growth over the coming years by expanding its product range and focussing on the best performance hardware at very competitive prices. Mark designed and created Overclockers UK website used until 2006 and the Overclockers UK Forums, featuring a unique blend of computer and lifestyle discussion topics that helped it become the most popular of its type in the UK.
In 2009 the continued growth of the business saw them move from Imex Business Park to much larger premises on High Carr Business Park, Newcastle-Under-Lyme, where they remain today.
Despite tough global economic conditions the company continues to invest and grow and the Overclockers UK forums are more popular then ever with new lifestyle sections such as cookery and customer service sections where customers can get the very best support at any time of the day.
Overclockers UK now employ 40 staff and with over half a million registered customers, the future looks to be full of opportunities for continued growth.
