As a mid-range CPU from the new AMD Ryzen 7000 Series, the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D delivers on gaming performance. Boasting eight cores and sixteen threads, this processor utilises SMT (simultaneous multithreading technology) to optimise performance during gaming workloads. Base frequencies for this processor are 4.2GHz but, as the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is unlocked for overclocking, this can be boosted up to 5.0GHz with the use of Precision Boost 2 or Precision Boost Overdrive.

For memory, AM5 compatible with DDR5 RAM modules, ideally supporting speeds between 5200 and 6000MHz. Additionally, a memory overclocking program has been developed specifically for the AMD Ryzen 7000 Series and DDR5, called AMD EXPO. This will offer optimised, on-click overclocking that can enhance 1080p gaming by 11% and reduce latency by up to 63ns.
