Thanks, looks like you hit all the silicon lottery's at once
Nah, the CPUs a bit of a dumpling compared to some using the curve optimizer. I just leave it at default (PBO auto) and the CAS14 / 1900IF as it results in low latency and cores are fast enough

I should have really ran AIDA64 benchmark after I updated BIOS earlier today with the new AGESA but forgot.

As it happens, yes :) I took these earlier to remember my settings when upgrading (then reverting) back to this A82 BIOS

BIOS settings DDR3800 / IF1900 / CAS14

Thanks, I’ll give this a go once my new system is up and running. Just waiting for all my water cooling bits to turn up now :(

3600 cl16 8 pack 16gb increased from £140 to £170 today. That's rough. In October 2020 it was around 110-120. I presume prices increased a lot across all ram due to recent extra demand and restricted supply. Tough time for new builds.

32gb set gone up to £299 now...was on offer at £199 before with regular price around £239....they're just price gouging now and taking advantage.

Business will go elsewhere now.

Well it’s certainly making me think twice and look at alternatives.

Looking to pick up 2 x 16Gb 3800 CL14 from somewhere if I can figure out which product I need for a 5950X.

@8 Pack @Gibbo

Is there a ripped 2 x 16Gb 3800 CL14 in the pipeline?

Or is the 3600 CL16 32Gb kit the one to go for on a 5950X? Been advised the price went up recently but I guess that’s my lousy timing as always!

£299 is a bit rich but if there’s a possibility of being able to run it at 3800 CL14 I’m willing to give it a go.

Just don’t want to buy the wrong kit!

I'm new to AMD so I just wanted to double check, will 8Pack Edition 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-28800C16 3600MHz Dual Channel Kit be compatible with an 5600x on an MSI B550-A pro?

This is with SoC Load line calibration on mode 1, but limiting package power to 125W to keep temps low.
All core boost results in ~4.6Ghz heavy load, ~4.9Ghz light load, 5Ghz single core. Max temps around 70c on air (Noctua)
I think these results with the RAM at 3800 CL14 are a happy ground instead of pushing for higher multi core but resulting in 90c temps (or a system crash)

Well I’ve taken the plunge and bought the same 2x16Gb kit.

Fingers crossed I manage to get similar results with my 5950X and X570 mobo. We shall see!
