Good valueAlthough spinning at 5900RPM only, on testing the drive did manage a Seq write of around 130mb/s and read of around 140mb , However the Access time DID suffer a bit and doesn't match those of 7200rpm drive , posing a 18ms. A good quiet drive to store your music, games and 9orn.12/03/2011

AwesomeCan't go wrong with these drives, cheap, efficient and silent.
Perfect for storage.

Wow...pleasantly surprisedGot this to replace my old Seagate 7200.12 1TB STEAM Games Hard drive as it was almost full. Bought the Green 2TB more for the size and price than any other reason but so glad I did now. Steam used to load in about 50 secs, now it loads up in under 30secs.. Game loads are noticeably quicker too as are loads between levels. Been buying Seagate drives for the last 15 years and never had a problem with them....1 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes

    ExcellentGreat drive.
    Rapid delivery
Folders open very quickly, noticed a huge improvement from previous drive 500gb Samsung F1.
Using it as a media drive, plenty of space, fast response time.
    Runs very quiet.

FastI have upgraded to this from Barracuda 7200.11 that I have used for storage. I was reluctant to go for the 5900 rpm drive as I though it would be a step backwards, but went for this as I is apparently faster than WD Green.
Having benched the drive I was surprised it was actually faster than me previous 7200 rpm HDDs.
Surely, compared to the current generation 7200 drives this would be slower, but despite being "green" it proves to be an adequate replacement for your last gen drives.1 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes

Great HDI bought 2 of these back in May and had no problems at all. Checked back here to buy another one and OMG, what has happened to the price? I paid 49.99 each for these 7 months ago and they have now tripled in price! I guess I got lucky :)1 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes

Excellent (except price)I am using this drive alongside my m4 ssd for caching. Excellent performance in this configuration. Its nice and quiet in operation.
The only downside for me was I paid 139.99 for it, due to the Thailand floods affecting supply.1 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes

Fastest 5900rpm drivesI assumed being 5900rpm drives they'd be slow - which was fine as I'm using it as backup - but they were just as fast as any of my 7200rpm drives.

Would definetly recommend.1 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes
