Fair for the priceHolds a nice amount of storage (around 1.8TB), however since the drive has been making a weird pulsing vibration noise, I'm now pretty concerned mine is about to fail. I understand all hard drives have a relatively high rate of failure, however I don't think I'll be buying Seagate again, shame though :(11/03/2013

WhoppA!have just purchased 2 of these now. one is Sata6gb wired the other on the only spare SataII(3gb)left on my X79 motherboard, 150mbsec on the 6gb line:O) niiiceee, 82mb on the standard lesser SATA II. So cant complain. No idea what peeps were saying about the clicking, both of mine silent, perhaps just newer models?.. either way VFM superb! easy to fit (im an idiot too) just had to add a volume using the windows help and then format...job done superb buy buy or its bye bye !02/01/2013

GoodA good 2tb drive for the price but I would recommend using a silent case with it because it makes this strange whirling noise.186 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes

Strange ClickingI would have to agree with the other poster, this drive makes a strange noise when about to seek, It also has me concerned that is on the edge of a fail (I will run some tools from UBCD) and see what happens.

Other than that, it is very fast!166 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes

OKIt does make a loud clicking noise at completely random times occasionally, as the other posters have pointed out. But it sounds like the heads parking or unparking so I'm assuming it's normal.

Other than that, the drive performs very well. HDtune reports 177MB/s max, 37MB/s min, and 120MB/s average, with access time of 14.3 ms.

I can't tell you how snappy the loading is because my OS is actually running on an SSD and I'm only using this for data and large programs (like games). But games load quickly enough that I never feel limited by the hard disk. Other than that, data transfers from the SSD to the HDD in windows 7 generally happen at over 60MB/s so I'd recommend this drive to anyone looking for a cheap 2TB HDD.164 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Great priceat 66.66 this was a good deal. The drive itself is quiet, I've not heard so much as a click from it. It's not easy to judge the performance as it's part of a RAIDZ volume, but the 'resliver' of 800GB took a shade under 7 hours which I thought was quite good.161 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? What a price!have been looking to buy a large drive for over a year now, but with the prices being as stupid as they were, i just deleted the files which weren't as important!

But now, I couldn't say no.

The drive-fistly, it's very light, no reassuring, but a tribute to the engineering which has gone into this thing (probably)
Speeds are good, Transfaring files i got over 70Mb/s for a few hours, access times are snappy, comparing to my (aged) 640gb Caviar Black.

Only thing is, it's louder than my other two drives (Barracuda 500gb and Caviar Black 640)
it makes a whirring noise and a clicking noise when the arm parks.
But I'm odd when it comes to noises.

Can't go wrong for the money....153 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes

Will it break or won't it?It would get 5 stars, if it wasn't for one nagging thing; it seems to make a strange momentary clicking noise when beginning a seek on the drive. I put this down to the arm moving over the magnet, maybe it is a little more noisey because the needle is closer to the plate than with smaller HDDs. But then I thought no, I have a 1.5Tb seagate barracuda that does not make any such noise when seeking, so I am back to the question of whether it will fail and lose all my files. Here's hoping not! - I will keep you all aprised.

Other than that, the drive is quiet, efficient, and as fast as you can get with a SATA HDD. Good buy all in all, if not a tad concerning.148 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes

Really goodWell, its a harddrive, what can i say. Plugged it in, switched on the PC, went into the manage thingy for Windows 7 and formatted it. It works like any harddrive should :)

Some folks in other comments have noticed a click, its a double click on spin up and spin down, simply the heads moving on and off the parked position. Apart from that the drive is super silent.143 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes

Other than that, it is very fast!143 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes
