The ZM-NBF47 does not need electrical power, because it is a fanless Northbridge cooler that operates without noise or vibration. It cools the chipset to its optimal temperature in absolute silence.

Looks good if you can actually fit itThis looks like a top quality product but will not fit motherboards using the 'hook and loop' fixing if the loops are not oriented correctly. If you have four hoops at each corner of the northbridge chip then you won't have any problems but if you have two diagonally opposite there is a 50% chance that you won't be able to fit this cooler. Because the hooks are shaped to fit in one orientation only it is not possible to reverse them. It won't fit my Foxconn motherboard which really needs the extra cooling :-( If Zalman included 2 more clips that are bent in the opposite direction it would solve the problem. Sadly a very basic error which if rectified could have made this product almost universal.19/01/2007

Does the JobPurchased one to save my little brothers old K7N2 Delta board, since the old cooler fan bearings had almost packed up. Was dubious about fitting fanless cooler, however been pleasantly surprised and this more than does the job with temps under 35c whilst Desktop idle. Admittedly I did use Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound rather than the Zalman stuff which came with it.

Be sure you have plenty of room in and around chip as the large spread fins will obstruct fitting. I was lucky and had about 1 to 2mm clearance from two capacitors!

Overall, more than does the job, just be sure there is fitting space around chip.85 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes

NO PROBLEMJust fitted one on an Abit IS7-E and it went in no problem replacing the original noisy failing Abit fan. The motherboard has 4 hooks and the fitting of the 2 springs provided (which will only go on 2 of the corners) was no problem.
I have been measuring temperatures with Speedfan and the Northbridge is stable at 41 degrees C.

I dont overclock etc but for the average usage it seems fine.
Felt motivated to write a review having read other's feedback, which was also encouraging, so go on and buy one and enjoy a quieter life!.84 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes

Life saverLast week those NB loop clips some manufacturers use busted off and my NB has been creeping my CPU temp up to 65. So i thought i would replace the cooler while sorting them out
It is good, a little big though got around 2mm to spare on my Aopen AX4SPE-UN with a Zalman CNPS950083 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes

Excellent replacementI bought this to replace my existing northbridge fan on my Abit NF7 which unfortunately decided to die on me.

Installation was a little fiddly took around 30min - 45min. Had to remove tha actual motherboard from the case to remove the stock HS/F.

This thing doesn't make any noise just as it mentions, and it keeps the chip nice and cool. Be sure though to have some sort of extractor fan fitted near or inside the case to drag out the heat it disperses.

Inside the package you get the HS itself, instructions (which are very good), some thermal grease, screws + nuts + brackets, and a funky Zalman case sticker!

Excellent buy for the price, I would recommend this to anyone wanting to replace there existing northbridge HS/F (be sure there is enough room though the ZM-NBF47 is quite big!).81 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes
