No Server 2012 SupportSadly no support for Server 2012 so best avoided if that's what you want to run. Intel don't do a driver for the 82579V so you have to hack the ini file and disable driver signing to even get the NIC to work. All of the Asus install programs all refuse to run on Server 2012. Shame, I've got one running Win 7 and it runs a treat. Would have been 5*'s if it wasn't for the lack of drivers.18/04/2013

Amazing BoardThe bios is easy to use and clear.
It's a great board with so many features with a good layout for fans and USB 3.0 / 2.0 slots.
The front IO ports have a helpful connector too which means you can sort them before plugging them in, cable manage and then plug them in.
The one issue is ram you must apply a lot of force and hear a second click otherwise your bios shall read those ram chips as non functional or damaged.

Awesome!!!This has got to be one of the best MBs in the X79 family, has all the features you would want in a high-end MB with out the price tag.

My i7 3820 is running stable @ 4.4Ghz from just using the turbo button!

Super quick delivery as usual.26 User found this Review usefullhelpful Review? Yes

Misleading errors after installIf like me you order this with the i7-3820 (and possibly the Kingston HyperX 4x4GB 1600MHz RAM) then on the initial boot you get error code AF on the digital display on the board and the light to indicate a RAM issue is constantly on. After a whole lot of pain I discovered it wasn't a RAM issue at all. You just need to update the BIOS.

To do this you need to get a USB stick that's been formatted in FAT16 or FAT32 and not NTFS. Download the latest BIOS file and place it in the root of the USB stick. Rename the BIOS file to match the one in the root of the install CD that came with the board. In my case that's renaming P9X79-PRO-ASUS-0906.ROM to P9X79PRO.ROM. Then plug the USB stick into the special port for updating the BIOS, on the Pro that should be bottom left of the rear panel in white. Finally with the PC powered down but connected to the mains press the BIOS update button on the rear panel until it flashes. Wait until it stops flashing (a few minutes) and reboot.23 User found this Review usefullhelpful Review? Yes
