Dell UltraSharp U2913WM 29"It might be lacking in the vertical department but it more than makes up for it with the extra peripheral vision. The colour clarity is also superb and once its in game mode (retina burn mode, some tweaking is necessary) the input lag gets reduced almost by half making it faster than some of the top end gaming monitors out there. I have not had any issues making games run at the native resolution and the extra real estate really improves the immersion. Shooters look fantastic and MMO/RPGs are improved tenfold. I cannot recommend it enough, I moved from a 29 1900x1200 monitor and the Dell just offers so much more.28/03/2013

Fovtastic!Got this instead of going to triple screens. Use my PC exclusively for gaming and browsing.
Takes a while to get used to the aspect ratio but it's fantastic in games (iRacing/BF3/Skyrim). DCS A10 is an absolute joy.
Went from a Asus 27" 120hz to this...the biggest difference in is the colours, which are just miles better. PPI too.
One strange thing though, motion handling and input lag are not as good as my previous Asus TN. BF3 scores dropped immediately...(retried on Asus and scores went back to normal). This was using the "Game" mode to reduce input lag etc. Forgot to switch modes one day and left it in standard and my scores went back up to the usual :-O Which is great as the colours in "Game" Mode aren't quite as good as the standard mode.
Does have a small bit of IPS glow in the bottom corners but it's not an issue as, due to the wide aspect ratio, those areas are not in your immediate focus.
Overall...very happy :-)
*4 stars as wish it was bigger..but don't we all :-P

Dell 29 inch widescreenJust bought this to replace two 19inch LCD monitors.....brlliant for video editing using Adobe Premiere as now theres no break in the screen, also the screen has a small footprint on the desk and the whole thing isnt massive, plenty of inputs, im personally using the provided mini displayport to displayport cable with my Quadro 4000 graphics card picture is very clear.373 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Very nice monitorReplaced an old 1920x1080 monitor with this and I'm well pleased with it. 1st decent monitor I've owned, games look good movies are pretty sweet. Although when letterbox films are zoomed to fit the screen it loses some resolution, mainly noticeable on ripped hd films. Games are a different story, razor sharp with beautiful colour reproduction and super wide field of view. Truly magnificent.
I love it ;-)360 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes

Lovely screenI changed to this from an eyefinity setup. I was sick of eyefinity having a lot of stretch at the horizontal extremities and lots of games UI not quite fitting right, or sometimes not even appearing on the screen(s). I found myself playing quite a few games on just one screen.
So, the Dell... This is a beautiful monitor and the controls are cleverly done. So it looks lovely on your desk without being showy or plasticky. Colours are good (factory preset, so good for work!) and it seems to not be smeary or laggy, subjectively. Shooters and driving games work great in the 21:9 aspect. In fact, for driving the 30% extra width is brilliant for peripheral awareness and looking into corners. Same with FPS, something which eyefinity never did to my satisfaction because of the stretch at the far left & right sides. This also means somewhat better framerates than eyefinity (fewer pixels to push), its almost a win win.
I say almost, its big and flat. Eyefinity felt nice, with the side monitors angled in a bit. But that's a small price... The main downside is that *most* games work perfectly in 2560x1080, but not *all* games. There are still a few cases of stretched UI horizontally and one or two where the UI simply doesn't fit into the screen vertically (in the cockpit of anything in Planetside 2). But this is generally *much* less problematic than it was with eyefinity and should improve as developers become more aware of the how shortcuts they make can look rubbish on some screens.

    Awesome!This monitor is gorgeous.

I wanted to upscale from a Dell 2408WFPb, but not go to multi-monitor setups (can't stand the bevels) or go nuts on a 30". Main usage is for gaming, largely Eve-online (for which the super widescreen is perfect) and browsing. Took a little while to get used to the aspect ratio, but I wouldn't look back now and would definitely recommend looking into it if you are moving up from a 24".

One piece of advice; it defaults to having the setting 'Smart Video Enhance' to ON, which is rather annoying as it keeps trying to change the colour setting between warm and cold while in game - just disable it in display settings.314 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes

It's The Future!I bought one of these back when OCUK was selling them for 500 and it's so great the fact they are now 150 less doesn't bother me in the slightest. The resolution is perfect for running two windows side by side (like old school dual 1280x1024 screens) or for docking an app like Skype to the side in W8 and working normally. It has loads of inputs, can daisy chain displayport screens, has output for speakers (and power for a dell soundbar) the USB hub is 3.0, the heigh adjustment range is great and the screen looks amazing.176 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? StunningJust bought this to replace my very old Acer 24" TFT, ok so at first it takes a little getting used to on the eyes but this soon passes.

The visuals are stunning, colour is enriched, great tone of black and the whites look like pure snow.

My computer is mainly used for gaming (BF4) to be precise, so i was a little apprehensive about the 8ms response time, Im running a i7 & 770GTX and to be honest with v/sync turned off i did notice some slight tearing nothing major but enough for me to enable v/sync adaptive mode in the nvidia control panel, once this was done no tearing was visible and it was still ran butter smooth.

Straight from the box you can feel the quality the stand is heavy & very firm, keeping the screen in place and comes with more than enough maneuverability to obtain the perfect view.

Highly recommended even for a gaming rig, perfect for cad design and photographic work148 User found this Review usefullHelpful Review? Yes
