“FlawlessGot one of these a couple of weeks back, has been a dream to set up and partition HDD once I got the hang of it (if you've ever installed an OS from scratch you should have (almost) no problem), works flawlessly.
The media server app makes playing content on networked devices a dream (speaks to my TV, radio, phone and PC), as well as having Android apps to control the Diskstation.
Main downside is the limited information provided in the box, but there is plenty out there on the Synology website.

It's easy to install drives, it's easy to install the DSM operating system and it's even easier to configure drives in a variety of RAID modes (or just basic partitions) and set up shares. Performance is very impressive as well, and the Download Station just makes my life so much easier. The various apps that Synology and others have made for Android and iOS also work very well for remote management! Thoroughly recommended product.19/11/2011“
