Woot - a routerLovely piece of kit. Bought to replace the BT Homehub 3 which is ok but the wifi is poo. No such problems with this monster.
Word of advice for BT Infinity users. When setting up, you WILL have problems. When you get to the part where you enter ISP user name and password, the user name is bthomehub@btbroadband.com, just as it says in BT's FAQ. BT doesn't require a password - this router's software, however, does - so just enter ANYTHING in the password field, it doesn't matter what as long as it's not blank. Took me hours to suss that out.

Wonderful cable router Daniel is mistaken when he states that Tomato firmware is not as good as stock. He could not have tried Shibby's. It has so many more features than stock and it is also better implemented. i.e. Ipv6 is much easier to setup and get working than latest stock firmware.
Solid, stable and looks great too.

Many OptionsAs always OC delivered everything correctly, box was well wrapped etc. The router itself is great as it replaces a D-Link that was 7 years old. Basic config is easy to setup it took 5 minutes. However the issues come when you want to go passed the basic and get everything working with the necessary protection, that requires a few hours and reading the user manual and the support pages on the Asus site. Portforwarding so my Qnap NAS could still be seen from the Net was a bit of an issue as was setting the router as a small FTP server, it’s all now working and the router is excellent VfM it has so many functions and options it’s future proofed for a few years.10 User found this Review usefullhelpful Review? Asus RT-N66U Black Diamond Dual-Band WirEasy to set up, only took 5 minutes from out of the box, no issues connecting a printer, NAS drive and main computer via cable. Wireless worked first time on all devices and the range/signal strength vastly improved over my last router (Belkin). Service from Overclockers great as usual10 User found this Review usefullhelpful Review? Yes

The BEST router on the marketThis is without a doubt the best router on the market. I paid £160, so £97 is a bargain.

DO NOT flash to DD-WRT or Tomato, you would be wasting this router. Those firmware replacers are intended for low market routers to unlock other features. (To the person who did, I hope you read this and switch back).
The stock firmware does everything they do, and it does it better.

I initially bought this as just a wireless router, but have since upgraded the entire house to a gigabit network, plus NAS (just plug and play, works with any external drive) and it all runs smoothly through this.

It has built in VPN capabilities, great if you use public wifi, just route everything back through your home network - safe and secure.

It can stream the NAS to any device in your network (Android and iOS apps available and free).

You can download via the router (including torrents), these can be controlled remotely.

I've run out of space now, but in short, buy this router.9 User found this Review usefullhelpful Review? Yes

Excellent RouterI've flashed Tomato-USB shibby onto this router and it performs superbly. The stock FW looks good too, even tho I only used it for like 60secs, as I wanted the better QoS features TomatoUSB offers.8 User found this Review usefullhelpful Review? Yes

Excellent, but no DDWRTExcellent router & features, but do NOT flash to DDWRT. If you do, here's how to recover: (1) Power off (2) Hold down the RESET button (3) Power on (4) Release RESET when the power LED is blinking (5) This is crucial - go to http://192.168.1.1 and reset the NVRAM to default values (6) Then use the Firmware Restore utility to re-flash the router. Just saved you many lost hours! :)6 User found this Review usefullhelpful Review? Yes
