ExcellentHad a little trouble setting it up, because I'm abit of a Sound Card "Novice". After I had finish setting the card up, the sound quality was unreal, I couldn't believe how clear it was! This sound card is fantastic, I really would recommend it!

Great CardGot this to replace my two year old Xi-Fi Gamer which up and died on me.
Installation in minutes, tweak the sound setting took a few minutes more. Tried it out with some music and the results were very impressive. Running this with a set of Creative Gigaworks and was very impressed with the sound quality.
Tried it with Battlefield 2. Doesn't allow you to select Ultra High settings in the options like it did with the Xi-Fi Gamer but does allow you to select EAX although this lead to one or two odd sound distortions. Switched EAX off tried again and kept getting odd sound distortion until I realised it was the radio white noise from com chatter. I had never noticed this sound before with Xi-Fi.

Excellent CardWow, I did not realise what I was missing using onboard sound, did not think 'proper' sound cards made that much difference, how wrong can you be!
Easy to fit, drivers installed on vista no problem and great control with the DX audio center.

Xonar DXFantastic product. It looks even better in the flesh than the pics suggest. Accepted the wired connections and slotted straight in to the motherboard. The only slight problem was the PC freezing when I tried to install the drivers and software (conflict with my AV I think) but installing the driver from the 'found new hardware' wizard then running the CD worked.
And then there's the sound. Used for stereo music only, it is just amazing. Clear and musical. Even better than I had hoped for. I don't 'game' so I cant comment on its ability there.

Great soundI switched to one of these after using a problematic Creative X-FI card for a few months.

Asus FantasticBeen putting up with Creative boards for years, Despite thier inherant problems.....!
That's all history now, This Asus DX board is fanflippingtastic, Fit, Load drivers, NO problems no issues, And on Vista 64bit, Business edition too....!
Gone are all the hassles & lack of any real 64bit support that Creative seemed to be happy with......
If you want a great sound, No hassles, Do yourself a big favour, And get an Asus Audio Board.....!

Be suprisedAlthough has a huge price gap between this and the DX2. To reviews, this doesn't lag behind much *if at all*.
OK. Perhaps this has one less feature, but that is no cripple on it's performance. Which is absolutely outstanding. Never had a card with such amazing clarity.

FantasticAmazing increase over on-board sound (and my old Audigy SE).
My speakers (Z-5500) and headphones (Senn 595's) have far clearer sound and what seems to be more bass! Everything is just clear as day.
Also if you have a good pair of stereo headphones you are in for a treat, with Dolby Headphone mode my 595's sound just like 5.1 and kick the crap out of the Speedlink Medusa headset I had.
