Great CardThose who are shopping for natural sound, this is the card you are looking for. The sound quality is identical to the D2 which everyone loves so much.
Although this card is bit more expensive then the DS version, but it has:
1. All solid state capacitor (for stability and longer durability)
2. A secondary back panel allowing itself to fit into Lower Profile Computer.
3. Brass 3.5mm connector for inprove conductivity hence better sound quality.
I had this card working on Windows 7 64bit Ultimate and so far, I'm very pleased with it.

Very impressive audioI had been using a Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic sound card for a few years but then it gave out and I started using the onboard audio. No biggy, right?
Well, no. Since I had already spent a lot on this new computer, I decided to also get the best audio I could. After reading review after review of how much better a sound card is over onboard audio (particularly the Asus Xonar range), I decided to go for it. I had my eye on the Asus Xonar DS but I was being recommended this one for the slightly extra money. I wanted this one instead of the DX as I only have access to a PCI slot on my motherboard due to the build.
The sound quality from this card is extreme. I'm using it with Asus' latest drivers on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit and damn it's SO much better than onboard audio. Enabling the modes such as "Music" and "Game" on the Control Centre just makes the experience all that much better. Battlefield Bad Company 2 never sounded so amazing!!!
Highly recommended.

Decent for the cashIf you dont want to spend LOADS on a soundcard but know that onboard ain't the best then try one of these.

Am noticing the difference over my old Audigy 2 Z2, both in music (hearing some sounds more clearly or even some subtle new ones!) and films/series.

Getting all my 5.1 speakers working in win 7 64bit without issue

Ain't gonna hear much difference between this and a D2.

Being slim means it suits the aesthetics of my build better too:)

Good performance price point, can't go wrong.7 User found this Review usefullhelpful Review? Yes

Perfect for musicThis card is great for lossless perfection and a good idea if you have a really expensive hi-fi that you want to feed music to from your pc.
I'm running it into the latest £3000+ hifi seperates and it is massively improved over onboard sound. Better than maudio and creative.6 User found this Review usefullhelpful Review? Yes

Best use for a PCI slot yetClear sounds and good software make this card worth every penny. Much better than a Realtek on board, I have not used a proper soundcard since 16 bit ISA and this is a treat, got my front audio working and my turntable pre amp through the line in port on the back. Sounds great.6 User found this Review usefullhelpful Review? Yes

Brilliant card, lovely sound qualityHad this card for over 2 years now.
Works brilliantly, and does what it says on the tin.
I would highly suggest getting this card, over on-board sound.5 User found this Review usefullhelpful Review? Yes
