Excellent for the priceMost likely the best speakers I could of bought for £70, great quality in both build and sound.
Well worth it :)

Pretty darn goodI've been using these speakers for probably a little over a month, now and, overall, I'm really happy with them.
Pros:
- Great sound - I'm no audiophile, but these things do sound good
- They look pretty good, too. Nice, minimalistic and sophisticated design.
- I've found having two large speakers is much more convenient than having two small tweeters and a huge sub to fit somewhere (that I would never turn up high enough to take advantage of having)
- They really do sound good!
- Pretty loud, too, if you hate your neighbours.
- Wireless controller is handy and kinda cool.
Cons:
- Little bit of unexpected wire stripping involved as the wire to connect left and right speakers has no connector.
- After turning it off it resets all your preferences, and defaults to muted with aux output selected. Which is a little strange.
- L/R channels seem to be reversed (but you can just plug red into white and vice versa)
Overall, really happy with these. Don't regret buying them for a second!

This is actually a 4.5* reviewWhat can I say?
I'm usually a Hi-Fi guy; I like the quality of sound and delivery of the sound range afforded by proper speakers which the titchy tiny efforts of Logitech, or even Bose just can't physically manage.

These Microlab speakers are designed to be a compromise; they don't break the bank costing £80, which is similar to a reasonable set from Creative, Logitech et al, but unlike the aforementioned sets which typically tend to favour tiny speakers with a cheap sub to try and fill out the bottom end. Instead, Microlabs have gone for the more traditional bookshelf speaker approach.

The benefit is that this gives them great sound reproduction for the price. As a set they're also fairly neutral out the box, so the EQ will be welcome to many.
    They also offer dual inputs.

My half-star off is down to the badly stripped speaker cable included. No issue to me, but could easily confuse people who aren't used to it! Additionally no EQ controls aside the remote.25 User found this Review usefullhelpful Review? Yes

Very Impressive SoundingHere are some brief impressions after a day of listening to them (using an Asus Essence ST, DSP/EQ disabled):

Build Quality & Design: Very sturdy wooden construction and reassuringly heavy to lift. Cosmetically it's very simple yet elegant with cleanly rounded edges and a pleasant black and mahogany colour scheme.

Features: Comes with all the necessary cables and a remote, allowing adjustment of volume, treble and bass, a mute button and input button (two RCA inputs). There is power switch at the back of the right speaker and also a volume knob (digital, like remote).

Sound: Treble is quite soft but still crisp and extended (no harshness). Mids are beautifully lush and forward; excels with vocal and acoustic music. Bass is quite deep and impactful, but at the same time tight and not overbearing; gives the overall sound a very hefty and solid quality.

Overall, very impressed! They sound a lot like my Sennheiser HD650 headphones; warm and polite, but still balanced and refined. 9/1024 User found this Review usefullhelpful Review? Yes

MicroLab SOLO6CTruly amazing speakers I would quite happily have paid double the price!

The highs are nice and sparkly (after a little EQ to the treble) mids are great...lows on these things are better than i thought although they cant quite reach the deepest lows with much authority SOME dubstep requires so Im fairly glad i have ordered sub too although i definatly could live without it (perhaps in hindsight i wouldnt have got one as these havent even broken in completly yet so bass should develop even more!). However as i understand most people wont be listening to the most hardcore dubstep and even for house music and chillstep the bass is more than adaquate for home use.
So for the madjority of people on a budget i can whole heartedly reccomend these!

My Dad just came up saying the music was shaking the whole house and i only had it on about 60% volume! LOL...just proves how powerful these speakers are and what great bass these 6" drivers can produce!

Buy these now without hesitation!23 User found this Review usefullhelpful Review? Yes
