Well firstly delivery great, secondly I was confused when a Acer plain looking box arrived I actually didn't get the gaming version with orange stand etc. I got the black one. But the guys chucked in the 3D Vision Nvidia Glasses. Fantastic monitor would recommend it to anyone! picture perfect!

Nice apart from buzzing issues

This is my first 120hz monitor so was quite pleased to see that I can indeed spot the difference in fluidity almost immediately. In terms of image quality this far surpasses my older flatscreens, so with all the other 120hz monitors being way more expensive it was good value at

Very good

No problems at all, very nice quality colours and picture, response time is very nice. 120hz via hdmi didnt work but with dual link dvi its fine and works a charm with a nicer picture and once you play l4d2, mw2, tf2 at 120hz youll never want to go back.

My only gripe that isnt even worth saying is that the screen wobbles if you have a crap desk, also the hdmi trouble but HDMI isnt as good quality so just use DVI. 5 stars, a recommended buy!

Best 3D monitor

I was really surprised how good this monitor is, mine doesnt make any buzzing noises, the picture is pretty good too for a TN panel. When you start viewing 3D content though it's awesome, I've only played Borderlands on it, which is only rated 'Good', and the weapons look very realistic, cant wait to play 3D Vision Ready games on it. I did consider the Alienware AW2310 for a while but the price difference is like

Great but noisy

120Hz on XP

To overcome the refresh rate problems on XP use the Powerstrip free software to set it to 120Hz.

really cool looking monitor that performs really well. only issue i have is the bleeding as it is quite aparent in the dark when watching a movie. when playing a game its hardly noticable. a little pricey but overall worth the cost. i plan to get 2 more of these for an nvidia 3d setup!

Great budget 3d ready

great display for 3d use. coupled with the 3d vision kit it looks amazing i have not experienced any screen lag , lots of user definable settings via a handy windows utility.

3 inputs, stand is fine imo and the colour is like a burnt copper

viewing angles are fine. my only criticism is where the front bezel meets the lcd panel its made from shiny plastic so whatever is on your screen at the edges reflects on the plastic but no big deal just thought i would mention it.

Overdrive / ACM issue

The monitor itself is very good.
What i find annoying is that whenever i disable the overdrive, the ACM will turn on (even if the on screen display shows it off). That means i have to enter the menu every time to go back to my contrast/brightness preset.
Why should i disable overdrive?
look the comparison pictures here:

Compared to my BENQ G2420HD, this blows it out of the water, and the fact i can watch 3D movies(as soon as they are out - septemberish) and play all my games.
Also don't listen to Rob's suggestion of buying a DVI cable, it comes bundled with a Dual link DVI cable.

Great monitor

At last a excellent monitor, 120hz as well, Also 3d, People moan about the stand but i cant fault it at all, Well worth the money. buy it!

Rob 2010-05-13

Fantastic monitor, very clear, no dead pixels. Remember to buy a DVI cable though!.

the best 3d monitor currently IMO

After waiting for overclockers to recieve their stock I couldn't be more excited than when I got my email confirming dispatch.

I previously bought the Acer 23" H235H which the only stat different was the contrast ratio 100,000:1 as a pose to this monitors 80,000:1 and honestly you can't notice the difference. Awesome looking design although the stand is not the sturdiest so position somewhere stable.

Looks brilliant with the Nvidia 3d Vision on COD:MW2. Initially getting use to 3D does give you a few headaches or might make your eyes sore but I have now found myself sometimes forgetting im even wearing the glasses (might just be tired) lol ;)

3D Vision

After 5 month on pre-order

>From 60Hz to 120Hz is great & now my eyes doesn't hurt now .I can see the screen without my glasses ( my eyes doesn't sore )

About 3D vision glasses is matter of getting used to & its too early for the technology (it will be about 2 or 3 years to get it right ).
I've had 1 game where the image stand out & it is wow , very impressive
There's some games where there are 3D in the screen not out of the screen it is disappointing
New games don't work 3D properly
In 3D vision Spec ,after about 1/2 an hour looking at the monitors your head and eyes hurt

Without 3D vision Specs , monitor is great & looks good

Was the waiting worth

I would say the waiting was worth, for the price this screen came out with the quality it has its very good, i had a Samsung 226BW and in terms of image quality it is superior, the 120hz just feel great like the old CRTs. Theres only a minor issue that happens, theres some halo around letters, this can be fixed by access the secret panel and disable OD - OverDrive

Overall i give this a 4 just due to this minor issue.

Real good

Got it today, looks bigger than I expected. Real nice.
Compared to my last 22" LCD monitor which had bad blacks, this is so much nicer, and not even the blacks. The image in general is ALOT clearer.

Dont use HDMI like I did, you have to use DVI for the best picture.

So I used DVI and set it to 1920x1080x32, 120Hz

Played DiRT2, and woah. Looks alot better, and the 120hz really does make a difference, everything seems alot faster and stuff. Its real nice.

My monitor is making a strange buzzing sound though, which sometimes gets abit louder. Id love to know what this is and whether its a problem or not. Other than that, THIS MONITOR IS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD

120Hz FTW

Great monitor for gaming. Colour and contrast is better than my 22" Samsung. I was really impressed at the difference between 60 and 120hz for motion in gaming (just flick back and forth between the two!). It makes you wonder how you got by on 60Hz since CRTs went out of fashion.

I'm not sure if ill go for the 3d specs at this time as they seem like a bit of a rip (would only use for single player gaming anyway). But for competitive gaming you really can't do much better than this monitor right now.

*Note to previous poster: The 'only half the screen displaying' thing happened to me after a power cut. Simply unplugging the monitor and plugging it back in solved the problem. Not happened since.

Great for the first 2 months

Well got it back in early March and its nearly the end of April now. Everything was great the 120hz, the 3d. Today during normal use it just died, well half the screen did. Will be sending it to ACER for inspection and repair. As long as the monitor lasts longer than 2 months its definitely a great monitor. The images on the screen is much better than my old X243HQ.

120 Hz Long Wait

Ok so if you are like me and waiting for Acer 2 pull there finger out, dont think about ending your pre-order just yet.

i have tried and tested this monitor for reviewing and must say its ther best monior i hav tested so far.

Perfect color and picture and yes i have tried the monitor with Nvidia 3d Vision and it is fantastic, a real step into future gaming and entertainment.

I have this monitor on pre-order and it would be nice if the ETA date stops being put back, please overclockers hurry up =)

overall awsome monitor and cant wait to recive mine =)

Hi i just got this monitor yesterday 8 april 2010.
setup was easy stand is a little bit on the poor side you best have a soldi desk .
because if you have a cheap mdf desk i can see the monitor will wobble when typing or gaming.

my current setup is 3gb ram corei7 920 ati 5870 dual boot xp & windows 7.
So i booted to win xp (big problem getting xp to see the make of the monitor & actually get it to run at 120hz.

I actualy got win xp to detect the monitor but on reboot went back to default plug & play monitor so had to manual set it to 120hz.

& i say it looks terrible on windows xp.
Booted to windows 7 & wow installed drivers set to 120hz & it looks great .. i can not comment on how the 3d aspect of game cause iv not got nvidia card or the glasses. but hey its a really nice monitor when running windows 7.
