Product information: Predator X34A 34" 3440x1440 IPS G-SYNC WideScreen Super-Wide ZeroFrame Curved LED Monitor

The 34-inch curved 21:9 ultra-wide Acer Predator X34A monitor is the world's first curved monitor with NVIDIA® G-SYNC™, providing an immersive gaming experience with minimal stutters and screen tears. DTS® sound, 2x7W speakers, a zero-frame design with a futuristic aluminium base and ambient lighting options create an exciting entertainment experience with style.

The Acer Predator X34A features a curved 21:9 UltraWide QHD (3440 x 1440) resolution IPS display panel with a 178-degree viewing angle, providing an immersive experience in games and entertainment with a broader view. It supports 100% of the sRGB colour gamut, delivering accurate colour reproduction desired by design professionals and photo enthusiasts for precise colour matching across applications and print output.

The curved screen puts every corner of the screen at the same distance from the viewer's eyes, providing a uniform viewing experience. It also presents a more immersive experience with a wider field of view and increased perceived area of peripheral vision compared to a flat display of the same size. The Predator X34A can be configured in a multi-monitor setup for an even richer gaming experience, thanks to its zero-frame design.

"Acer continues to showcase its commitment to PC gaming with the introduction of their new NVIDIA G-SYNC-enabled Predator X34 gaming monitor," said Jeff Fisher, senior vice-president of the GeForce business unit at NVIDIA. "The preferred choice of PC gamers everywhere is a GeForce GTX GPU, which when paired with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology is the only platform to deliver an ultra-smooth gaming experience across the entire spectrum of PC games."

For gamers, the Predator X34A supports multiple features that allow them to fine tune the monitor's performance, including 6-axis colour adjustment enabled by NVIDIA G-SYNC, on-screen display of refresh rate, and three different aim-point icons to choose from. Users can easily identify when G-SYNC mode is on through a red ambient light at the lower edge of the monitor, of which intensity changes according to the instantaneous monitor refresh rate.

Designed with ergonomics in mind, the Predator X34A can be tilted from -5° to 35° and adjusted vertically up to 130 mm, allowing the user to position the monitor in the most comfortable viewing angle. It also features flicker-less technology to lessen eye fatigue for a more comfortable gaming or working experience.

The Predator X34A supports DisplayPort and HDMI inputs, and has a built-in USB 3.0 hub which supports high-speed charging of smartphones and other devices.

Works great with MSI GTX1070 Gaming X graphics card

Superb monitor. Includes display port, HDMI and USB cables with a metal wall fixture. Its powered by an external power brick. The metal stand is solid and doesn't take up too much space. The controls are thankfully switches and so you don't need a remote to change settings like my last monitor. The plug has a 5A fuse and so its doesn't draw a lot of current ie its energy efficient. G-sync and overclocking to 100MHz was straight forward to setup using an MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X card. I first tried The Division Survival DLC which was silky smooth and I killed the final Hunter with two head shots-aiming is easier on a larger monitor. The extra monitor space will be great for other work. 1 mark down for the high price but I view this as a worth while investment. Recommended monitor upgrade and I prefer this ultra wide screen format and faster 100MHz speed to the current 4K monitors on the market.

Its Worth It.

So not going to lie I am lucky, I got this as a "B" Spec for £500 and from what i can tell it was just a return its still in new condition.

Its the greatest monitor you can get, im sure the Asus one is very similar(sure they use the same panels) but 100hz at this res and having G-Sync is a game changer. Single Titan X Maxwell running it and honestly its doing a great job. Would be amazing with 2 GPU's but still 10/10

Took a while to get used to

Took me a while to adjust to a super wide monitor. I purchased this along with a new build and set it all up together.

When Windows was first installed i took one look at my desktop and thought "All this space... it looks empty!!"

Have to say though, i doubt i will go back to a non super wide monitor (and not just because i need to find every reason to justify spending this amount of money).

Pros:

-The USB ports on the back are a dream

-The overclocking G-Sync feature boosted to 100hz with no problems

- Playing games is made more of a pleasure

- Red LEDs underneath are a nice touch. They have different settings so that they pulse, stay static, etc.

- Despite what people say, i found the menu quite easy to navigate. It tells you onscreen what buttons does what (and the symbols are positioned directly above the buttons)

- Makes browsing websites much easier as you can see a hell of a lot more.

- No back light bleed (At least nothing noticeable from the one i received... May of been lucky)

- No dead pixels (again, may of been lucky)

Cons:

- Some games don't support 3440 x 1440 in their cut scenes

- Takes up a LOT of room

- Dat price tho...

Overall and after i got used to it, i would recommend. I can't recommend against any other super wide screen as this is my first.

Went for it...

I'm not particularly technically minded so my comments are just an honest opinion on whether or not i found this worth the money! I took the plunge and decided to go for the X34a, i went for it over the Asus purely based on the looks, the LED under-lighting (nice touch) and the fact this is a revised "a" version that has ironed out some problems.

So far, it's been amazing and i don't think i'll ever go back to a non-ultrawide. It's so practical, looks amazing both on and off-screen and the g-sync is quite literally unbelievable.

I was dubious about g-sync and whether or not it's just a gimmick but i'm genuinely staggered by the difference it makes. I play a lot of games like Rust or Squad that aren't optimised all that well, but the difference between g-sync on and off is like night and day. The smoothness of the motion and even the FPS increase (how??) is incredible. If you can afford a monitor with g-sync, whether it's an ultrawide or not, you simply must have it.

The standard mostly solid metal and incredible premium feelings, it comes prebuilt and you can move the unitwithout ever having to touch the monitor itself which is handy becuase the gloss black back is an absolute fingerprint magnet, it's actually quite classy looks good but gloss black is still a bit dodgy in my opinion. The front however is a brushed finish and looks pure quality.

My biggest concern was the gpu feeding this things.....so farI've had no problems. I have a Asus Strix OC 1070 and can run bf1 on ultra 70fps+ which is about the toughest challenge i can give it, if i drop shadows to high it's 85+. Everything else is easy peasy. Again, g-sync.... so good.

this is a 9/10 for me. My only criticisms would be some minor backlight bleed in one corner but i realise this is very hard to avoid, plus it really is minor. The other would be the black gloss back, i never see the back of the monitor luckily, but honestly for the price surely they could upgrade this to match the more premium looking front? Also... super pricey!!

Worth every £

All I can say is wow! Acer have really put the previous issues this monitor had behind them mine has no backlight bleed and overclocks to 100hz with no issues. This is my first ultra wide and I will not be going back! Only issue is the menus can be somewhat painful to navigate but you will very rarely be using it after you've calibrated and overclocked.

Great monitor!

Awesome monitor at £850, demand has set the price sky high but if you want the best out there at the moment this is it. Hopefully when supply/demand settles this will be back to a reasonable price.

The Proud Alternative to Virtual Reality

I upgraded from a Ben-Q 3D 27". Doing a whole system rebuild with a new 1080 and thought: "my old monitor just won't do it justice". I'm not a rich man, bought this on finance but I have not regretted a moment of owning it.

Ladies and Gents the quality you get from this screen, the display, the lighting, the inbuilt speakers, the design and the options for its set up. Just wow! Its alot of money sure, but its an investment and I doubt I'll upgrade this for a very long time. Also if VR isn't for you or there isn't enough game incentive yet but you want the best, well you're reading about it!

I've had no dead pixels, no back light bleed, overclock works great, it looks insane and the colours are rich. Mine was a B Grade so if this is a B Grade review then think what you're getting!

OCUK Team thankyou and as ever great service.

Acer x34a Review

What a Beast, Upgraded from a Asus rog swift pg278q 144hz to join the ultra-wide club after seeing it round a friends!
I was torn between this and going 4k on my 1080 but decided after reading review ultra-wide was worth it.
Was i disappointed? HELL NO this monitor is a beast picture quality is superb and even in inbuilt speakers are good enough i play a wide range of games and playing them in ultra-wide 3440x1440 is amazing this monitor overclocked to 100hz with no issues for me a few button clicks and it was done....
i had no dead pixels or back light bleed
Top notch service again from OCUK ordered and delivered within 16 hours
i would highly recommended this A*

Best monitor I have ever used

I'm sure if you are looking at this you have already done plenty of research.
So let me say this, just buy one.

I was lucky enough to get minimal backlight bleed and colour uniformity is pretty spot on.

Only down side is mine will not overclock past 95hz no matter what I try.
Small niggle really and to be honest I'm keeping it anyway, rather a 5hz loss than potential other issues.
