AK-955 CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775)

The Ultra Quiet AK-955 uses a hi-engineered omni directional heatsink with full length ventilated copper core. The new design fan frame provides side ventilation which increases air induction. Bi-ped fins maximise heat dissipation. The fan uses INTEL approved power management (PWM) with auto fan operation. Intel approved board push pins ensures reliable retention.

big improvement

bought one of these for my bothers computer as the quad 6600 seemed to be heating up quite a bit and in turn was causing the stock fan to run very loud to compensate.

noticed an immediate difference. temps dropped around 15/20 degrees as well as the fan being much quieter. very impressed with this product, in fact thinking of buying another for my own computer.

better than a stock cooler

Stock cooler for Intel E2200 was so poorly designed the thermal paste plate ineffectively dissipated the CPU heat. In need of emergency cooling I bought this cooler.

I'm running this through an ASUS P5QL Pro Mobo with an EPU system. Before the EPU has a chance to adjust power savings there is a hurricane behind the case! Seriously, this CPU cooler can move some air! Not only that but the design of the thermal paste plate, the push pins (extra mm accuracy for ease of fitting compared to Intel's own) and the cooling system via the copper core all amount to a very good upgrade from the stock coolers you get with any new CPU. Highly recommended.

One last thing. As I said, 'seriously this cooler can move some air' which means some serious noise. If you have manual speed control or a Mobo which adjusts the fan speed of the CPU intelligently this shouldn't be a problem.

U can probably get less extreme speed variations from a cooler but the price and quality make this a winner.

Excellent value

I'm still using one of these on my overclocked E6400 (2.13MHz to 3.2MHz). Idles at 35 degrees, gets to 65 degrees under maximum load. For less than 13 quid? Gotta be nuts not to buy one. Pretty quiet too.
