Combining the power from a PSU molex connection with the versatility of PWM motherboard connections for the very first time the Akasa AK-CB002 is a revolutionary take on a old concept. Taking the stress of powering your fans from your motherboard enables much more powerful fans to be used while allowing their speed to be synchronized with CPU usage. Supporting three fans this is the ultimate fan splitter for todays low noise performance systems.

best way to use this

by john duncan star star star star star

OK what you need to do is connect the molex connector (the big 4 pin one) to your PSU for power. The 4-pin 'to motherboard' connection goes on your motherboard where you connect your CPU, it should read CPU_PWR or CPU_FAN etc...Then you connect the CPU fan from the splitter to your CPU fan, and the rest can be used to power system fans which will spin at the same speed, and be variable, like the cpu fan. If you have a H50/H70 water rad, its best to connect the CPU fan from the splitter to fan 1, one of the case fan connectors from the splitter into fan 2, leaving you one free. The H50/H70 pump should not, i repeat, should not be plugged into the splitter. It needs seperate constant, non-regulated power, you will need to use a free fan power suply from the motherboard.

useful cable

I have a Gigabyte EX58-UD5 and unfortunately only 2 of the pwm headers have variable voltages as the cpu heats up. This means some of the fans would run at full speed all of the time and not under control of the bios. This cable has a connector that you can connect to a single PWM header and split it to 3 fans the molex then just supplies the additional power. The cables are pretty long too.Hope this helps someone else.

How to connect

Hi Rob,How did you get it running PWM so that the mobo controls the speed?RegardsLuke
