AK-CC4009EP01 Venom Pico Compact CPU Cooler

Venom pico is a unique cooler combining high performance with great value and striking looks.

The highly effective 92mm fan in killer Viper yellow delivers vast amounts of airflow for top notch cooling. The PWM function ensures quiet operation during normal system use and performance cooling under load. Two copper heatpipes with direct CPU contact provide rapid heat transfer from CPU to high grade aluminium fins. Anti-vibration rubber fan mounting pins help to eliminate a lot of fan noise.

New design akasa (patented) Easy Select Clip with Intel reference push-pin retention is used for no-hassle mounting on Intel LGA775, LGA1156 and LGA1366 platforms - no backplate is needed. AMD Sockets 939, AM2, AM2+ and AM3 are catered for with a cam-lever clip for safe and easy attachment. Performance thermal compound is supplied.

Price affective.

For the price you can't go wrong!

Keeps my cpu running in the low 30c while just idle touches mid-high 40c under full load bare in mind this is for an older amd phenom 9950 quad core black edition, i built a spare rig with old parts, so being on a budget it was perfect!

The only gripe i had, was it can be a pain to install it with limited space in a small tower the spring loaded clasp is a little fiddlesome. And finally like someone else added the stock speed of the fan is loud! but seeing as i had a spare fan control system to hook it up to, problem solved for setting it's rpm.

As a side note if your looking for a cheap fan control i recommend Akasa AK-FC-06BKV2 Fan Controller, it's cheap and does the job :).

Akasa ak cooler

Very disappointed with this cooler. The fan is extremely loud and is unbearable. I feel like I have wasted

Good little cooler

Received this today with my 2500k, overclocked it to 4.3ghz straight away and it idles around 25-30c.

Don't be a dumbass like me though, completely forgot to remove the sticker on the heatsink when I first installed and wondered why it was idling at 45c, oops!

Fine for normal use, but not really a 'c

A decent cooler which will cope with most processors, but don't expect to overclock with it unless you have a fairly modest or an older processor.

I tried one of these on an i5 2500K, largely because I didn't want a monster cooler and have to lose one of my case fans. If you are happy running your CPU at it's stock speed, it copes perfectly fine. I however wanted to clock and it just wasn't powerful enough so I ditched one of my side case fans and bought a Corsair A50 for
