Product information: AK-CCX-4002HP Venom CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366/AM2/AM3)

Venom, this cooler is definitely rock and roll. Venom delivers ultra high performance enabling serious system overclocking. The 12cm killer Viper yellow fan uses S-Flow blades providing 30% more airflow than a standard fan at the same speed. PWM function ensures quiet operation during normal system use and performance cooling under load.
The Black cover and nickel plated heatpipes combined with the Viper yellow elements creates a striking combination which adds pazazz to any system. Four high capacity 8mm heatpipes with direct CPU contact provide rapid heat transfer from CPU to 45 aluminium fins. Anti-vibration rubber fan mounting pins provide easy installation and help to elimate a lot of fan noise. Adjustable mountings ensure full compatibility with all current AMD and Intel CPU’s.
The Smart cooler design allows for the installation of a second fan, giving extreme performance in a push-pull setup where the first fan “pushes” air through the heatsink’s cooling fins, at the same time the second one “pulls” air through from the other side. The combined airflow of two 12cm fans results in more efficient heat dissipation and consequently lower CPU temperatures.

- Dimensions: 120 (W) x 96 (D) x 160 (H) mm
- Fan speed: 600-1900 RPM (PWM controlled)
- Max airflow: 83.63 CFM
- Noise level: 6.9 - 28.9 dB(A)
- Performance 12cm PWM fan in killer Viper yellow
- 4 high capacity 8mm heatpipes with direct CPU contact
- Award winning S-FLOW fan blades provide 30% more airflow
- Smart design allows for a 2nd fan for extreme performance

Amazing

I got this one from Greece couse OC dont have it in stock.
With this one i change a liquid system from Thermaltake, i used for my Phenom II 1090 (i never handle the noice from the pump).
And boom, is just amazing it keeps the cpu (on default clocks, but with turbo enabled), at 44C (close 111F) after 2h of Prime95 stress test and with room amb at 20C.
Now the only thing i hear (just a little) is the 14cm coolers from my Lian-Li P80R.

Very Good

Got this to replace my stock cooler for my Phenom II X6 Six Core 1100T. Its at the standard 3.3Ghz.

Much much quieter than stock and it now idles at no more than 21 degrees. Stock was around 27.

A couple of hours of BFBC2 and its still silent and the highest temp was 37 degrees. Used to be around 50 with the stock cooler so very impressed.

It is quite a wide cooler i use a Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 AMD 990X motherboard and once it is fitted i lose 2 RAM slots so be careful. I'm fot too worried as i can use the other 2 slots.

It comes with some thermal compound but i have used some arctic silver as i bought some for another build.

Easy enough to set up and feels very secure on the motherboard, even though its quite a heavy cooler.

Sweet piece of Kit!

Just some things to note... This thing hovers horridly close to my RAM; So if you have larger RAMSinks you may encounter problems. Also, wait to attatch the fan until the heatsink is attatched to your MoBo.

Well this thing is truly silent, can't hear it above my HD3870, which is finally going today as I got the XFX HD6870 Black :)

The Anti Vibration rubber really works well with this, it's great that they give you eight of them as I've added another fan to the heatsink with adjustable speed.

E8400 OC'd to 3.66GHz never really goes about 50c.

Ignore the stars, this get 10/10!

Brilliant Heatsink

To put the point across most effectively..

Asus P8P67 Deluxe
Intel i7 2600K 3.40Ghz
Stock Heatsink - Idle (Max Temp): 45c
Load (Max Temp): 69c

Intel i7 2600K overclocked to 4.5Ghz
Akasa Venom Heatsink - Idle: 32c
Load: 58c

Pretty self explanatory.

Awesome

I got this for my Q6600 which runs at 3.0ghz.

Stock temps:
39 idle and 69 under load.
Venom temps:
33 idle and 50 under load.

It also looks awesome. Great service from overclockers with next day delivery.

Thanks

Looks amazing

pain in the bum to set up... but once you get it working.. oh man is it great!

Wicked Cooler!

What can i say, probably my favorite part of my rig is this cooler. Keeps my 1090T temps VERY low even when OC'd. Looks awsome too. There may be a problem when fitting over ram modules with larger heatsinks on as the fan hangs closely over the ram bays. Shouldnt be a problem with normal sized modules.

Brilliant

This cooler is brilliant much better then my stock cooler that was trying to kill my CPU ( must have been faulty ). Good service from Overclockers as usual.

Great for the price

This is a very quiet, effecient CPU cooler. I know it isn't a powerful CPU, but I have an AMD Athlon II X4 620 at stock clock speeds that idle 20

Henry Fletcher 2011-02-12

great

Quiet fan. decent cooler. Works much better than stock heatsink for i7 processor. Under load, temps have dropped by 10 degrees which isn't too bad.

Andrius 2011-02-05

Very good

Intel 2500K @ 4Ghz idle 15, full load 49. Very happy with that.

Fantastic Cooler

I have my Phenom II X4 955 running at 4Ghz. Idle temps are low 30's. Under load the highest i've seen it reach is high 40's. Going to buy this again for future builds

10/10

My 1st "big cooler" fitted to my new system 2500k running at stock 3.3Ghz at the moment.

Idle 29oC and full load does not go above 49oC.

Would defo recommend this cooler its really easy to install and a value for for money.

Amazing

Look no further if you want to achieve a decent overclock on air. For the price i think this is the best bang for buck cooler on the market. Not only does it perform well, it also looks amazing!
I have my 955be @ 3.5ghz with 1.2 volts and its 29c idle, 48c max load. Get this cooler!

Matt 2010-11-05

Impressive

Got this mounted on a 1055t which has been oc'd from 2.8 to 3.6. Even after playing WoW for hours, my cpu has never gone over very low 40c's. Silent and effective, plus a good price equals a good buy in my book.

great cooler for am3

This is cooling my phenom 965 on a gigabyte UD7 mobo inside an antec DF85 case.
Instalation was a breeze, with great instructions and cooler can be mounted in dual directions to help case clearance.
Idle temp is 29c (used silver paste) and fan is running at 985 rpm with zero noise.
The cooler itself is huge so check case size and will probably over shadow your first ram stick.
Delivery was excellent.

Richard 2010-10-23

Very Impressive

Just stuck one of these on my i5 as a replacement for the stock cooler, even with a reasonable overclock the chip is running a lot cooler now than it was before, and it is even a little quieter than the stock cooler. The mounting system is very easy to use and looks solid.

My only gripe is that, despite the copious amount of packaging applied by OCUK and within the box itself, it still arrived with bent fins.

AMAZING

ok i was looking for a good cpu cooler and came across this. i was familiar with akasa because i got a 9600gt cooler with 2 1cm thick copper pipes and the design looked effective, only

Linden 2010-06-11

Wow

Swapped over from an Akasa Evo Blue and temperatures dropped instantly by 8C. Keeping my AMD64 3800+ below 50C at 2.7 Ghz. Haven't even heard it yet. Had to lose the fan from the side panel of my Antec 902 but I certainly don't need it now. When fitted to an AM2 the air is blown toward the top of the case, exellent for top vented cases.

chaotic 2010-05-26

impressive

i must say this cooler is not loud at all ,it is the best cooler i have ever purchased . it keeps my oc 955BE below 55c full load in prime95 , good work ocuk for the fast delivery
