Alpenfohn Brocken 2 PCGH Edition Dual Fan CPU Cooler - 140 mm

The special PCGH edition brockenm 2 cooler has not one but two the all-new Wing Boost 2 140mm silent fans with 3-pin connector. According to the ideas of the "PC Games Hardware" computer technology magazine, the special version of the Brocken 2 is consistently designed for quiet operation. For this purpose, the two 140mm fans work in a push-pull configuration at only 700rpm and do not produce more volume than 18.5dB (A).

This cooler will not block you from installing memory in to your motherboard. The cooler is compatible with Motherboards that have the Intel sockets 775, 115x, 1366, 2011 (-v3) and 2066 or the AMD sockets AM2 (+), AM3 (+), and FM1 / 2 (+). Here the Brocken 2 can be easily and safely installed thanks to the RockMount system.

The two fans are designed to run at low speeds and thus produce low noise emissions. During operation, these silent fans, which are connected to a 3-pin connector on the mainboard, rotate at inaudible 700 rpm. Thanks to the new S-Shape geometry of the fan blades and the good hydraulic bearing, Alpenföhn able to improve the conveying performance.

The static pressure was also somewhat increased without increasing the speed. Nevertheless, the Wing Boost 2, which has a 120 mm bore for better compatibility, is a very quiet model. At the maximum 700 rpm, each of the two fans supplied with a maximum of 18.5 dB (A) conveys 36 CFM per hour, thus ensuring that there is always plenty of drafts on the chunks!

Along with the AM4 kit it makes a nice and easy to install cooler with enough RAM clearance

Placed this on top of a MSI B450M Mortar motherboard and to rotate it 180° but can't fault Alpenföhn for that.. MSI placed a higher than needed heatsink cover next to the CPU socket that's in the way of this and I imagine other big aircoolers as the heatsink is taller than low profile RAM is (why MSI!?). The cooler is brilliant though, I picked it up on discount for £26.99 and at that price its competition is single 120mm fan tower coolers which cannot compete with this 140mm double fan monster. Do keep in mind that it's build for silence rather than performance, they're slow spinning fans with not a great amount of airflow but still worlds apart from the stockcoolers and better than almost everything else at this price level.
