Happy bunny

After using fx-8150 ( 4.6 GHz -230x23 on 1.44v ) for 3 years , upgraded to this one , on the same air cooler ( around 30-40

Buy the 8350 for gods sake.

For a start, anybody that claims they cant get at least 4.6ghz out of an 8350 is either very unlucky, or very bad at overclocking!

I have set up countless fx 8350 chips and while they do vary little bit in overclocking capability, I've never come across one that will not do 4.7ghz, most of the new fx 8350 chips hit 5ghz, 4.8 with ease!.

Personally I have all my 8350's running at 4.9ghz with corsair h series coolers and they all idle at -20c, with around 50c under stress. With the 8350 you can hit 4.5ghz at stock voltage, and only a little bit extra is required to get 4.8/4.9.
To be clear, this chip has no advantage over the 8350 at all! Clock for clock they are identical, in fact, many people are not even able to hit 5ghz with the 9590, this is simply a way for AMD to charge more money for a cherry picked 8350.

Fx9590 experiences

I bought this on offer at

its your choice

To start off i don`t own this processor i bought the 8350 which I

Good, but you may as well buy an FX 8350

So you are probably wondering why you should get this over FX 8350, right? I'll tell you why. This is basically an FX 8350 factory over clocked, that's why. There is nothing special about this CPU at all, it is not any faster than the 8350 at the same clock speeds, and you can save yourself

AMD FX 9590

Unbelievable fast. You get one hell of a processor for such a low price.

I posted my initial review (26/09/13) soon after installing the FX9590. I am just as pleased with it now as I was back then. I am able to overclock it further (5.2GHz all stable). Temperatures are stable in a well ventilated case (CM storm trooper). Just wanted to say to the guy who had the bare faced audacity to allege my Performance Pass mark results are false - you are completely wrong. I have the full version PPM and I printed off my PPM benchmark results. Will wager

Good Processor

This is a very good processsor for this price range but i will state that this review above in this statement "Performance Passmark for my FX9590 is 10845. It beats i7-3770K (

An exercise in overclocking

Very good cpu. This is an upgrade from FX8350 which is great also and I overclocked it to 4.4GHZ (same clock speed as new FX9370) on air, all stable. This FX9590 is factory overclocked by experts to 4.7GHz and stable (turbo oc to 5GHz). CPU draws 220W only when oc'd to 5GHz or more. Intel fanboys criticised this a lot because of heat output (220W TDP). Total rubbish. Does not overheat at all. Even with my Arctic Freezer A30 air cooler, idle 36c and load 59c. My main air cooler is Alpenfohn K2 mount doom. After 1 hour use, idle is 33c. Last night after 1 hour ME3, cpu was 49c. After 30 mins Crysis3, cpu was 56c. Yesterday during daytime (nice, hot weather) cpu was 39c idle.

Performance Passmark for my FX9590 is 10845. It beats i7-3770K (

This processor at this price WOW!! I tried to get it up and running, although my Crosshair IV Formula supports AM3+ it doesn't support anything over 140W TDP and this CPU needs 220W TDP. Watch out for this and check your motherboard specs before buying is my advice to any up-graders.
