Fantastic case

I brought this about 4 years ago for my first build, and it's still going strong. There's a small problem with dust build up but nothing a bit of housecleaning every so often can't keep in check. My biggest problem with it is that I've recently replaced all the noisy fans in it with fractal design fans - much quieter - but the 200mm monster on the top doesn't seem to have standard fittings, which means the replacement fan I got doesn't sit right (but maybe I'm being a mong)... I'm going to rip that one out and replace it with clear plastic to silence the rattle when I get a chance to. Otherwise a fabulous case.

3rd year, 2nd upgrade

Awesome case, got it about three and half years back from OCUK as a prebuilt system.

Been through two upgrades now and the case has yet to let me down. Excellent cooling and airflow but be aware of dust build-up. I suggest keeping the bottom HD tray empty to ease cleaning.

Top fan works well for cooling and looks great however if like me you have the case in a position where you put your feet up on it, be aware that the top mesh will bend in a foul the fan blades, get a proper foot rest.

Cable management is a nightmare with the case. Get some decent sleeves and ties, plan your layout and use a modular PSU to save on cables or you will find yourself cutting holes all over the shop.

To builders who are thinking of using an extra side fan, be aware that with some micro ATX Mobo's, a PCIe GFX card may foul with the fan, so check clearance first.

IMPORTANT NOTE: save the hard drive screws for the caddies, its a pain trying to get more on short notice. ask Antec, will post them free.

Great Case

Iv had this case for a year now and I havent had any problems! The fans arent to loud and they keep the internals nice and cool.

With the optional side fan is a nice little touch. I reversed the rear fan to an inlet fan as the 200mm top is all it needs to get rid of any warm air.

Only 1 problem i found with this case is the power cable, usb, audio and le.d cables are far far to short! So its a little harder to make them tidy when hooking them onto the motherboard.

Just bought this case from OCUK and its very good! compoared to my old standars case it is so cold - colder in the case than my room. my 5770 ran at 75+'C now my 5970 in the antec 900 runs at 65-70'C max - if i increase the fan spped of the 5970 in overdrive i can run crysis at 60-65'C. So so far its excellent...lets ee if it continues!

Gr8 but only when new

Having owned this case for about 7 months now i shall review it :)

Pro's -

Psu at bottom, pumps out huge amounts of cool air, handy tray at top, loads of room for the biggest gfx cards like the Ati 5970, water cooling ready, Selectable fan speed, 120mm side panel fan position, front audio & USB ports. wicked looks

Cons -

Cheap fans, blades break off easily, HD cages can lose thier threads, top 200mm fan costs 24 pound from antec, No replacement side panel, side panel plastic easy to break, Grey inside not black, Lack of open slots for cable tidy,

Other wise its not a bad case .. it could be better but i guess thats what the Antec 1200 is for.

one last thing.. its ALOT better than the antec 902 !!!

Great case, sadly some flaws

Win case

Love this case; mine is the revised version with holes for some cable management - so if you but it from OCUK like me you should get the same.
Fans are quiet and you can really feel the air flowing inside with your hand.
Only issues are how popular the case is and you may have to rearrange the drives if you want a massive gpu.
Could have done with a bottom vent for the power supply. One of my fans had damaged LEDs so they were coloured torquoise, Antec didn't seem to think they were worth replacing. For the price range there may be some more suitable cases though.

I must diasagree with Ian.

The fridge designed for PC components

To start off with, the Antec 900 has slightly poor cable management. I managed to keep things tidy for a while using tiestraps and sticky pads. However, once I had a small upgrade inside I had to rip these out, so only do it if your not going o upgrade for a while.

In terms of cooling though, it is excellent, I bought an additional fan for the side panel because my graphics card was getting too hot (it only has a heatsink, no fan). The extra fan makes the case look even better in the dark and it definately cooled the graphics card down more.

I am a fan of the little plate for the floppy disk drive, I never use my floppy disk drive (I think I bought it 5+ years ago for an old case and have never used it), but it still looks quite good on the front.

With 4x120mm fans and a 200mm fan it does generate quite a bit of noise (I think my fans are set between low and medium). It is bearable, if your used to the sound of fans instead of whisper quiet then it is alright. Dust is another issue.

Great Case

Very good case, ver well built, very solid and BIG compared to my previous case.Keeps parts very cool the highest temperature is coming from my graphics card(HD4780) which is 44 dregrees Idle and 60 underload.Dust isn't a problem if you keep it in a clean environment.I also purchased some air filters for the other fans as well. Also there are also some very cool features.Cable management wasn't a problem since I bought a modular power supply. And it looks amazing with the lights off but looks cool even with them on.And its watercooling compatible. The best Gaming Case after Antec 1200 imo.
