Antec DF500: Midi-Tower for Demanding Gamers
The Antec DF500 Midi-Tower offers a multitude of features for gamers at an extremely competitive price. The spacious interior offers plenty of space for multiple graphics cards up to 380 mm in length and can be used as the foundation for extremely high-end gaming systems. Since the hard disk cage has moved to the floor and no optical drive is used, the airflow in the case is excellent.
In order to tame the potentially overclocked CPU, the tower offers space for CPU coolers up to 165 mm in height. For AiO CPU coolers or even full custom water cooling, the case offers the choice of installing a 360 mm radiator in the front.
Design and Ventilation of the DF500
The mesh grille cover and the side-facing air inlets on the stylish acrylic front both play a role in the superb airflow offered by the DF500. Behind this lies the three pre-installed RGB-LED fans. The RGB-LED fans can be adjusted via the integrated hub and a switch on the I/O panel in seven different colours and two modes. Two 140 mm fans can alternatively be installed in the front. The top of the case also has space for three 120 mm or two 140 mm fans and the rear allows for a 120 mm fan. The top, as well as the front and underside also offer removable dust filters.
Thanks to the tempered glass left side panel, users can view their installed hardware. The power supply and HDDs on the other hand are concealed beneath the power supply cover. The drive cage can hold two 2.5- or 3.5" storage devices and two further SSDs can be installed behind the motherboard tray. Two SSDs can even be installed next to the motherboard.
The I/O panel accommodates two USB 3.0 ports as well as audio jacks and the aforementioned RGB control. Beneath the shroud lies the power supply that can be up to 200 mm long. For a case in this price class, the Antec DF500 is an absolute bargain considering the range of features it offers!
