P183 Super Midi Tower Case - Gun Metal Black

Building from a proven design, Antec introduces the P183, the next chapter in our Performance One Series enclosures. Dual chambers isolate the power supply and CPU into separate cooling zones, with up to five configurable fans for unsurpassed cooling. Three-layer, sound-deadening panels dampen noise even in the most demanding systems, ensuring quiet operation. The original P180 was a breakthrough in case design, and now the P183 carries on the tradition, ushering in the latest standards for cooling and quiet.

Love this case

Had this case for about six months.

Its cool, quiet (on low setting) and nice looking.

One small issue is with the top fan position which creates the vast majority of the sound. Once the fan is stopped the noise goes away. I have since removed the fan and covered the hole with clear acrylic.

The dust filters work very well protecting the inside from a great deal of the dust ingress you'd normally get in a non filtered case.

This up dated version of the P-Series looks good and the side panels are strong and of a high quality. The layout is pretty much the same, They have moved the bottom chamber fan to the front of the case and have added the possibility of installing their new PSU series.

The problem is the front finish especially on the plastic isnt as good anymore. Its rough and dust and dirt clings to it like glue. I preferred the shinier P182.

Also the bottom panel seems to flex alot now they have removed the metal fan mount that was riveted there in the previous case. Other than these 2 small gripes it is a very good case and one i would recommend for anyone looking to get a smooth professional looking case that doesn't scream "look at me!!".

A side note is that this case has loverly modding potential for those with a mind for tweaking performance.

Brilliant service from OCUK at all stages of the purchase. Thanks

4.0 stars out of 5.0.

Not happy with the space

Nice looking, good build qualitz and the fans are v.quiet.

Only gripe is where the motherboard sits in the case. I have a Gigabyte UD3 and cannot use the last slot for a second graphics card (with the heatsink it is too wide) :(

Worst think is if the motherboard was mounted higher (and there is the space) it would be fine!

If you have only one graphics card, recommend, if not steer clear!

Sleek and Quiet

Pros: The Antec P183 is a very sleek looking case. It has great cable management features, like the separate chamber for the PSU which helps keep the unnecessary cables tidied away and the motherboard cut-outs, so you can pass the cables round the back. It has plenty of air vents and fans mounts nice little features like the silicon strips to reduce vibration. I fitted two extra fans on the front and now achieve very low CPU temps. The noise is also very quiet as well.
In most cases you will need an additional PCI-E extension cable for your PSU.

Cons: Some very minor points. The case can be locked, although you can still access the power and reset buttons through the air vents, which makes this feature redundant. It could use a few holes cut out of the floppy drive tray sides as this would be an excellent area to tuck away unused cables.

Possibly perfect

I can't fault this case at all. It's vast on the inside, very well laid out for building, the airflow appears to be excellent and with a bit of thought (avoiding cheap fans & heatsinks) can be silent. I'm running it watercooled/aircooled combo (tubing holes for the external heatsink are also pefectly positioned) with the fans turned higher than necessary as my girlfriend kept switching it off when it was on because she couldn't hear it running...
Must be a risk as a retailer selling these things as I can't think of any reason to 'upgrade' - there's nowhere to go!

So I researched and researched and I finally had all the info needed for building a gaming PC. I decided I wanted a really quiet PC, which cost me a fair bit, but I guess if you want quality then it will cost. Got this case, bit expensive but I really like it. The case material stay very very cold, I have no issues with temperatures and I

Antec P183

Agreed - first "upmarket" case I have bought. Very quiet and allows excellent, tidy layout.
