Product information: G2770PF 27" 1920x1080 TN FREESYNC 144Hz 1ms Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor - Black/Red

Designed for serious gamers, the 27-inch AOC G2770PF display delivers an extra smooth playing experience with AMD FreeSync™. Combined with an AMD Radeon™ graphics card and AMD Catalyst™ driver, FreeSync™ seamlessly synchronizes the monitor and GPU refresh rates to eliminate tearing, stuttering and input lag. Ultra fast 1ms response time and impressive 144Hz refresh rate diminish distractions like blurring and ghosting that can mean the difference between victory and defeat. Whether you’re racing around the track or stalking enemies in a first-person shooter, the Full HD resolution delivers sharp, true-to-life imagery.

Goodbye motion blur! Equip yourself with twice the frame rate of other monitors and forget enemies that appear to stutter across your screen, making them difficult targets to hit. With a 144Hz frame rate, you see those critical missing images on the screen, showing your foe’s movement in ultra smooth motion and eliminating blur and tearing. Games are too good to go unseen.

A pixel response time of 1 ms means speed without the smear for an enhanced gaming experience. Fast-moving action and dramatic transitions will be rendered smoothly without the annoying effects of ghosting. Choose the right path to success, don’t let a slow display stop you.

gamble paid off!

Took a gamble on the TN panel, I had an early Samsung TN panel some years ago and HATED it, so up until now I've stuck to IPS or VA.
Very impressed with how TN has improved, it's still not as good as IPS/VA visually but the differences are now small with good colours although blacks are not as deep.
Viewing angles are also much better with little colour shift, it's still there and more easily noticed than with a IPS panel but it's now more than tolerable.
Mine has no dead pixels and was a little bright out of the box, easily corrected.

The stand is good, nice large base with rubber pads and with no great wobbles, there's also a good range of tilt/height adjustment and the display can be rotated through 90 degrees.

A few downers:
Driver installation is a bit awkward with no helpful wizards to do the legwork.
The supplied Display Port cable SEEMS to be a little poor, I've had a couple of 'no signal' bootups with it and Freesync doesn't work through DVI.
It will be too large for some and its large pixels will be an issue for others, 1440 is a better res at this size unless, like me your eyesight isn't perfect or you are prepared to sacrifice precision for a larger display and higher frame rates.
Some will find the wide bezel an issue and I don't think it'll be a good choice for dual monitor gaming for that reason but it's not an issue for a single display.

Don't forget to set your monitor refresh to 144Hz in the Windows Control Panel, folks!
