AMD no problem

Got mine as part of the black friday deals.
Running off an r9 270x with ccc 14.9 no problems with dp @60, plugged in res and refresh correctly set no fiddling with settings.
Monitor did come with the wrong power cord , but 1 phonecall to OCUK and a uk lead was sent next day by courier.
Only problem I have is monitor 'pops' now and again, and also switching res when starting games, I lose half the display, which means I have to switch the monitor off and on a few times to get the whole display back, so I suspect a hardware fault, but as monitor has a 3 yr onsite warranty I'm not rushing to get it changed.

Problem over DP1.2

I recently bought 2 of these U2868PQU monitors. I connected 1 to my Win7 PC and 1 to a mac (both times via DP1.2). I get 4k@60Hz as expected. However, on both machines the monitor fails to wake up once it goes on standby mode (The computer can be accessed remotely, though). This issue is not present when I use an HDMI cable (but I then get 4k only at 30Hz, as expected).

I contacted AOC about this issue but never received any answer (although they acknowledged my email).

I would be very interested if anyone has a clue on how to fix this.

Absolutely exceptional monitor!

4k is absolutely stunning to game on, thankfully AMD picked up their game and released drivers that work with this monitor and stop that damn flickering! It makes most games look like artist renditions, sometimes the cutscenes don't even look as good as the gameplay!

The only downside is that it requires a lot of power to play at max graphics and there's little content in regards to 4k movies and TV shows and a few games' HUDs don't scale well to 4k and some others require ridiculous amounts of VRAM that even my r9 295x2 can't handle. I also needed to get a Mini Displayport to Displayport cable so that I could actually connect to the monitor at 4k.

The colour, contrast and viewing angles are all pretty good for a TN monitor and the stand is fairly good quality with adjustible height and tilt. The cables that come with the monitor include VGA, Displayport and HDMI cables.

You won't be disappointed if you buy this monitor!

came shipped with the wrong plug

gave this monitor a 3 star because of the type J plug (Swiss) that was shipped with it, disappointed because i had to go and buy a plug adaptor to convert to UK standard, I'm guessing the other reviewers of this screen had no plug issue. Nice screen for the price though, i would recommend getting this on a budget

good monitor

hi this is a very good monitor but dont buy any 4k monitors if you have a amd card as amd have rubbish signal using display port they really need to sort this it will work in 59hz but when you get to 60hz the screen goes mad flickers this happens on most 4k screens at 60hz with a amd card. but a good monitor nice look and brilliant stand would recommend at this price

Great performance for the money!

I just got this monitor and I have to say I am very impressed bot as a working monitor and also as a gaming monitor. The picture is beautiful and although you will find some review out there who are saying that the colors on the monitor are not great I have to say they are very tolerably good. Will definitely recommend to people who are looking for 4K monitor!

AOC not a 60 hz monitor

I use an AMD gpu the R9 290 and it would not go to 60 hz no matter what I tried, I had to wait for AMD to pull their act together and release 14.7RC beta driver which worked with the AOC timings which AMD says is the problem, I finally got it to go to 60 hz but the screen has developed a issue where it pops on start up and then flickers the only way to get it to stop flickering is to turn it off there by getting the popping sound again.

I contacted AOC they were good enough to get me a replacement but the new one has the same problem but came to me worse than the one I sent them, the box was damaged and I'm awaiting their reply.

The monitor when it does work is fantastic, playing games at 4K res BF4 and DayZ are amazingly detailed at such high resolution I don't even need AA or AF applied no jagged edges on the models or shadows. I love the monitor but I hate that I have had to go through this nightmare, I don't suppose OCUK will allow this review since I thought it curtsy to let others now of the ordeal.

Hopefully they won't censor these reviews. Stay away from AOC 4K monitors for the time being till they iron out the issues and give AMD the correct timings. 2 stars for an amazing monitor minus 3 stars for AOC failing test the monitors properly and iron out all the issues and all the subsequent issues since buying this.
