Great for overclocking

Purchased this cooler hoping to do a bit of overclocking with it, was a pain to install on the AM3+ socket but did it eventually. (Don't let this put you off the cooler).

I booted up the computer with it and it halved the temperatures when not overclocked.
- Idle: 20 degrees
- Load: 30 degrees

I managed to overclock the FX 6100 black edition from 3.3Ghz to 4.5Ghz with the temperatures at 50 - 55 degrees. Under load its at 65 degrees.

The fan is a little noisy but its a great cooler overall, very happy :)

Ok for price

Cooling i5 2500k I hit 65-67c at 4.3ghz and fan is really noisy. I will spend a bit more next time.

Superb cooler for a superb price

Bough this simply because the 7 rev. 2 was out of stock. Not that there is much difference apart from 1 more heat pipe.

This is a brilliant cooler for the price. Running it on a AMD FX6100 BE clocked to 3.9GHz. Idle at 26 degrees, 42 degrees after 45 mins of playing F1 2011. Not sure why some people moan about installation, the AMD installation is VERY easy for anyone who has ever held a screwdriver.

Small note, watch your fingers, some of the fins have sharp edges! Though that might be my clumsy nature!

not as good as the arctiu 7

before you buy this i suggest you look at the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler (Socket 939/AM2/AM3/775/1155/1156/1366)

it is one of the best coolers going and for under

does what it says on the can

bought this to replace the (noisy) stock cooler on a phenom IIx4 955 @3.2G

29C idle 44C max so well pleased

fits MSI 870A with clearance over the RAM slots even for tall (Corsair XMS3 )sticks

only minor issue is that it will only align north-south so it blows / sucks through the power supply

installation (for AMD) a lot easier than the stock cooler

No offence Mr.Dee, but there's no way you fitted it correctly with those temps.
Q6600 here at 3.6GHz
44 degrees idle
59 full load

Excellent cooler at this price. Runs cool and quiet and has a 6 year warranty. How anyone can fault it is beyond me.

Not Impressed

I fitted one of these on my new pc build, steady temps of 65 degrees gaming, but I could not overclock as in a game because if i did the pc would switch off after a min due to temperatures exceeding 95 degrees, I have since changed my cooler :-)
