GeForce RTX 2080 Dual OC 8192MB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card

The ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 Dual O8G represents the cutting edge of graphics card technology. The TU104 GPU of the RTX 2080 is built on the Turing architecture, utilises the new 12 nm FinFET manufacturing process in addition to GDDR6-VRAM to make for a significant leap forward in terms of speed when compared to the 10- series. The reason behind the name change to "GeForce RTX" lies in the deployment of Ray-Tracing Technology, this unlocks incredibly realistic lighting and shadow effects.

The Cooler Design & Clock Frequencies of the ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 Dual O8G

The ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 Dual O8G has a Base Clock of 1515 MHz. When under heavy load, the clock frequencies of the graphics chip increase automatically up to a 1830 MHz Boost Clock. The innovative GDDR6-VRAM operates at 7000 MHz (14000 MHz effective) while the 8 GB of memory makes gaming at 4K resolutions or immersing yourself in Virtual Reality a treat for the senses.

The cooler design of this ASUS card has also been refined: the base of the heat sink has be further optimised, resulting in twice the total contact surface area. Furthermore the Dual O8G includes new fans that have been manufactured in accordance with the new IP5X dust resistance rating, thereby ensuring the fans spin at the correct speeds and push the optimum amount of air. The aluminium backplate encompasses the whole underside of the graphics card and also strengthens the board while providing the board and its sensitive circuitry with welcome additional protection.

Great card seems to run well on I7 4970 K , DDR3 16 GB 1600 MHz . On steam the 3D BENCHMARK app gave the GPU a score of 8554 and gave 124.1% . Using on the Oculus Rift S motion sickness from a previous GTX 970 that had a low FPS was eli

Nice GPU upgrade for price and easy to install with Geforce Experience updating drivers .

Strong performance for a "budget" model

Having gone from a GTX 970 to this, it's clear to see there is a huge improvement to performance. Paired with a AMD Ryzen 1700 OC'd to 3.7GHz and 16GB DDR4 Memory clocked at 3000Mhz, this card can run almost every game at 4K 60Hz. although some games need the settings to be tweaked a little. At 1080P, this card will push over 100fps in pretty much every game out there, so it's an ideal card for people using 144hz monitors, even at 1440p. While the card is fast, it does get a little warmer than some other cards, hitting 71'C at stock clock speeds (although at stock the card was still running at around 1890MHz under sustained gaming load), however, this is still a more than reasonable temperature. I have OC'd my card by 140MHz on the core speed, and an extra 750MHz on the memory speed (1500MHz effective increase), and now the memory runs at 15500MHz, the core clock speeds consistently holding at 2040MHz once the card has heated up. With this overclock on my card, I noticed the temperature was hovering around the 77-79'C mark, which again is not terrible given the overclock. I have however set a manual fan curve so the fans are a bit more aggressive, and now temps do not go above 75'C even after long gaming sessions. Even with the fans running at 70%, they are still fairly quite and unless you're going for a silent build, you more than likely won't notice the sound of the fans, especially if you're wearing a headset.

Overall, this a very solid card. Unless you're after RGB lighting, or you're after better temps for whatever reason, I see no reason why you would pay an extra 10-20% in price for the alternative 2080 cards as you won't see a 10-20% increase in performance.

Bought this card and I'm paring it with a 4770k and the Rog dominator 2k 144htz monitor. The gtx 970 wasn't cutting it anymore.
It's amazing. Simple. Running assassin's creed Odyssey at 2k on max setting at average 60fps. Same with Wildlands. On FPS shooters such as apex I run it at 1080p mostly at 130fps+.
Temps on full load are around 70c but the fans are not at 100%.
At 100% the fans are loud but hey... I have headphones.
Also it clocks at 1965htz with no oc done by myself.... Bonus!

Overlocker, silent..1980Mhz reached in benchmarks..

One of the best cards if you dont want that rgb illusion...
