Nice little board

I have been running this a while now so can give my thoughts. I wanted to downsize to a smaller system whilst still having plenty of punch. I coupled this with an AMD 3850 piledriver which this handsomely overclocked to 4.5GHz. 4 memory slots is nice also, and it has plenty of USB ports.

There are only 2 downsides, and they are very slight.

1. There are no internal USB 3 headers, although you do get a USB2 to USB3 header bt you are still working at USB2 speeds (not a big problem).

2. The north bridge heatsink is quite awkward. In the PCI-X1 slot I run a soundblaster card and if you have a long card then it can touch the heatsink along the edge. I resolved this by sticking a little sticky dot over the exposed sound card solderings on the back to isolate it.

Great board for the price!

Very good board, would reccomend

I bought this a couple of months ago, been liking it since using it. The motherboard has very good features for the price!

A very decent o.c potential in this too! Boosted my FX 4300 a fair amount.

some gripes were:

No mosfet heatsinks! They could have easily put some on for an oc'ing board.

Lack of USB3.0 internal header.

That Northbridge heatsink can get right in the way of aftermarket heatsink installation! I had to maneuver my tools around it to fully get it on!

great mobo

You cant fault it for the price, i run it with an amd piledriver and worked spot on, it fits every thing you need on it didn't try try the on-board graphics but the audio is very nice.

its got enough usb slots and was fairly easy to install in to my micro atx case.

Good board

Just checked one of these in my wife's pc with a FX 4300.

Currently running it at 4.6Ghz (220x21).

Very pleased!

Good budget board.

Pretty good little board this. Im running it with a FX6100, 8GB 1600MHz ram, and a HD6770 Graphics. Overall a very good board. I haven't tried the onboard graphics as I bought the 6770 to go in it from the start.

Only small problems, and the reason it got 4 instead of 5 stars:
* The ASUS EPU-4 engine that is designed to provide hardware based energy savings. Fine untill you start pushing it hard (gaming). After quite a bit of investigation I found the EPU engine to be causing system instability at high load.

* That nice blue NorthBridge cooler. As pretty as it is, and quiet due to being passive, it gets HOT!! As in cant touch it hot! Im intending to make an extension to the heatsink out of an old CPU cooler to keep the temp somewhere near acceptable.

That said I doubt it would actually cause a problem in the normal life of a PC, and certainly wouldn't put me off buying this board again.

exellent mobo

great little mobo here, was able to overclock my athlon II x4 640 to 3.30GHz. coupled with that a nvidia geforce 9600 GT 512MB video card and a 1TB hard drive it is able to play the latest games with ease.

*small but powerfull mobo
*nice design
*HDMI, DVI and VGA onboard outputs
*8 channel audio card

*SATA 2 @ 3GBs
*onboard graphics despite being a amd radeon 3000 HD chipset is slow and WILL struggle to play the latest games
*audio chipset is a VIA that been said its just as good as my preffered realtek
*only one pci-e slot making crossfire limited
*only one ps/2 port - not good if you dont have a usb mouse and keyboard

Love it.

Love this motherboard, nice size fits perfectly into my Midi case, my only flaw is that because I bought an OcUK Nvidia 550 Ti 1024MB GFX card, the card is SO big that I can't use any of my PCI slots...However this baby has 5.1 surround sound built in with a nice HDAudio driver set free with the motherboard's driver disc and it actually sounds CLEARER than my Soundblaster 7.1 card which cost me almost
