The new kind of USB Type C is particularly slim and allows connectors to be inserted in either direction. USB 3.1 or USB 3.1 Gen 2 can reach speeds of up to 10 Gbit/s per port. One unique feature includes the integrated ASUS "Aura" RGB-LED lighting that provides lighting effects on the I/O cover as well as the chipset heatsink, enabling even customisable effects in a multitude of colours that can be controlled by software.
Last but not least the motherboard provides connectivity for four 4-pin PWM fans as well as two pumps for water cooling connected directly to the board. An I/O shield is located on the rear of the motherboard to provide access to further devices and components via USB 3.1, 3.0 and 2.0, Gigabit LAN, universe PS/2 or 5 audio jacks for connecting 7.1 surround sound to the ASUS Prime X370-PRO. Display output is supported via the integrated APU-GPU (optional) with two monitor outputs: HDMI and DisplayPort.
