ROG STRIX B450-I GAMING (Socket AM4) DDR4 Mini-ITX Motherboard
The B450 chipset forms the centrepiece of the ASUS STRIX B450-I Gaming motherboard and has been specially developed and optimised for 2000- series (Pinnacle Ridge) Ryzen CPUs. B450 motherboards support all features of 2nd gen Ryzen processors, such as the AMD's new XFR2 overclocking. Additionally, the motherboards support up to 64 GB of RAM with a guaranteed clock frequency of 2.933 Megahertz. Overclocking to higher frequencies is also an option, although the increase will depend on the motherboard.
The Features of the ASUS STRIX B450-I Gaming at a Glance:
- 1x PCIe 3.0 x16 (x16) for high-end graphics cards
- 2x USB 3.1 / 6x USB 3.0 / 2x USB 2.0
- 2x M.2 (PCIe 3.0 x4) / 4x SATA 6G
- DDR4-RAM up to 3.400 MHz via OC
- Intel ac WiFi with antennae & digital RGB header
The Features of the ASUS STRIX B450-I Gaming in Detail:
The ASUS STRIX B450-I Gaming Mini-ITX motherboard comes with a reinforced PCI-Express 3.0 slot with full x16 connectivity for high-performance graphics cards. The two RAM slots support up to 32 GB DDR4-RAM clocked at up to 2.933 MHz and clock frequencies up to 3.400 MHz are possible with overclocking.
Two M.2 slots PCIe connectivity are supported by this AM4 motherboard. One of these is connected using four PCI-Express Lanes and the SATA6G data transfer protocol for chipset connectivity, while the other uses four PCIe Lanes exclusively. M.2 SSDs that use the advanced NVM-Express protocol (NVMe) and that are connected by means of four PCI-Express 3.0 lanes are up to eight times faster than SATA 6G hard drives and support data transfer speeds of up to 32 Gbit/s. Should a Raven Ridge APU with a Vega GPU be used, the board's M.2 slot function is disabled.
The ASUS STRIX B450-I Gaming offers two fast USB 3.1 ports on the I/O panel. USB 3.1 Gen 2 is capable of achieving speeds of up to 10 Gbit/s per port and USB ports that use this standard generally support mobile phones' and tablets' quick charging functions. For CPUs with integrated graphics like AMD's Raven Ridge APUs, HDMI connectivity is available.
In terms of special features available on the ASUS STRIX B450-I Gaming, there is an ac WiFi module as well as antennae and Bluetooth 4.2 support along with Aura Sync RGB lighting zones. Additionally the motherboard has a header for static lighting and a header for addressable RGB lighting elements.
