Top class

Hello everyone,

I bought this motherboard based on the existing reviews that it had and it doesn't fail it's expectations, this is a great board for the price range.

On another note thank you for the haribo's

frustration

Just received my board today and 10/10 as per usual for overclockers delivery, paid for next day before 12 - 8:30am it arrived so very happy.

Board is great the only annoying thing is you get no screws or case screw attachments with the mother board I know this is a small thing but as it's an upgrade from a micro atx board it's a mess around to have to make a trip for something as trivial as this.

If it was not for this minor hickup would have got 5/5

CTRl +F CTRl WTF?

Great board but does anyone know how to get into the AMD option raid bios

Mr S 2012-08-24

Great Board, but...

Got mine last week (luckily with FX support). This really is a great board as everyone else has said. The UEFI BIOS is joy to use and the board looks good too.

The only thing that niggles me is that in order to access the boot menu you need to press F8 during bootup. As most people will know this is also the key that you need to press to access Safe Mode. As a result booting into Safe Mode is damn nigh impossible. First you need to go into the boot menu, then choose the hard disk and immediately start banging away at the F8 key. I find that I can get into Safe Mode about 50% of the time this way. Other manufactures use F12 or F11. Seems silly and a bit lazy to cause unnecessary problems.

great board

Had this motherboard for approx 3 weeks now, i am not an overclocker and i dont play games. So nothing is overclocked, its running like a dream, which is what i wanted, very stable, and not one problem. I edit photos so i wanted reliability and affordability more than anything else, have a 6 core AMD processor with stock fan, 8 gig of corsair RAM 1300 soon to be upgraded to 16 gig Corsair Vengeance 1600, Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 graphics card, Corsair 850 modular PSU, blu-ray burner in an Antec 300 Case.
Colour scheme of the board is military, it looks like a normal board to me, dont know if it really is tough :)
BIOS, wow! different to what i am used to, this is my 4th build and it totally threw me :)
I am so pleased with this mobo i hope it lasts a long time, first thing i did once it was up and running was to register the 5 year warrenty, if it lasts 5 years and beyond i will be more than happy after my last board choked after 2 years.

Asus Sabertooth 990Fx

Seems a great board to me. Using it with a Phenom 6 core chip an its fast and stable (not over clocking). Fast enough for video renders as it is.
Plenty of features and looks wonderful... like the mil grade components.

Word of Warning

It is hit and miss whether you receive a motherboard with the updated BIOS on it. I received this motherboard yesterday, and much to my disappointment, the BIOS is outdated and cannot support my FX 6100.

Why ASUS do this is beyond my comprehension. It seems to be luck of the draw whether you receive one with the 0705 BIOS on it.

As other people have rightly said, it is essential that you make sure you have an AM3 processor or Phenom II spare in case you need to flash the BIOS in order to support an FX CPU.

Jake Harvey 2011-12-14

Simple

Great board, fitted an FX-4100 couple of restarts to get her going

Jamie 2011-12-07

Impressive Mobo

I love the look of this board, it feels like true quality.
CPU socket is slightly further from the I/O than my previos boards (MicroATX's) meaning my Corsair H80 has a little more room between rad and waterblock

I did have an issue with entering the BIOS though, I am not exactly sure but I use an HDTV via a HDMI for my Monitor, which has worked fine for me with several boards over the past 18 months, but could I H**L get into the BIOS, until finally due to a proccess of elimintion found that UEFI bios does not appear to support HDMI output.

When using DVI or VGA no problem, with HDMI on HDTV after pressing DEL I get a black screen, after jumper reset i get American Megatrends screen Press F1 for setup...again nothing when using the HDMI

Maybe it's just me being noobish,... but otherwise I am very happy with the board which shipped with the Ver-0705 (22-08-2011) Bios, just need to get a Bulldozer Chip to replace My PhenomII

artfullDODGER33 2011-11-24

Well worth the money

Having purchased a new AMD Bulldozer 6100, I felt it had to have a motherboard to match it. Chose the Sabertooth and I've not been left disappointed.
The UEFI BIOS allows for a lot of customisation and for those wishing to squeeze as much bang from their buck out of the system, there's plenty options available for overclocking.

One word of caution though. If you are purchasing this motherboard, ensure that you have access to an AMD Phenom II, as the production models currently do not have the BIOS upgrade required to allow the Bulldozer to work out of the box. Once you've flashed the BIOS using the EX Flash 2 tool, it works first time. Learned this the hard way.

Aside from this issue, it is a fantastic board which more than delivers upon it's promise. Highly recommend it.

Cracking Board

Firstly thanks to OCUK, I submitted this and a 8120 FX to my order pretty late in the day and asked for next day delivery and by lunch time I had a new box of goodys sitting under my desk top marks again !!.

The board itself is a thing to behold plenty of features at quite frankly a mad price and the cheapest I could find it on the net (naturally). So looks aside it performs well so far, UEFI bios works and is functional and my board shipped 0705 which is Bulldozer ready, it also comes with and SLi bridge and the usual sata cables albeit really nice ones and the signatory easy fit I/O sheild.

A great board unless you need and want a Crosshair V get this its great!

Paul 2011-11-17

Delivery Only Review

Thank you Overclockers for the agreed delivery and service. Often companies say they will then don't.

Overclockers say they will and DO!!

If another company had done what they said they would I might have been able to review the board as well.
Looking forward to building.

Best board ever.

This is easily the best motherboard I've ever come across. Installation was a breeze, the "Q-Shield" I/O protector is brilliant, so much better than a regular metal protector. The PCI-E slots have a very nice push-to-eject function, making it easier to get your graphics cards out. The RAM slots are of a slightly different design as well, making it quicker to get RAM sticks in and out.

The UEFI BIOS is very impressive and works quite well with both mouse and keyboard. It's also got the most stable voltages I've ever seen, and if you like using LLC it's got several levels of aggressiveness, making it a very versatile overclocker/powersaver.

The AI Suite II software on the CD is worth checking out as well, some pretty extensive temperature and voltage monitoring stuff in there.

All in all, truly great board.
