TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING (Socket AM4) DDR4 MATX Motherboard
The B450 chipset forms the centrepiece of the ASUS TUF B450M-Plus Gaming motherboard and has been specially developed and optimised for 2000- series (Pinnacle Ridge) Ryzen CPUs. B450 motherboards support all features of 2nd gen Ryzen processors, such as the AMD's new XFR2 overclocking. Additionally, the motherboards support up to 64 GB of RAM with a guaranteed clock frequency of 2.933 MHz. Overclocking to higher frequencies is also an option, although the increase will depend on the motherboard.

The ASUS TUF B450M-Plus Gaming Micro-ATX motherboard offers a PCI-Express 3.0 slot with full x16 connectivity for graphics cards as well as a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slot with four lanes. For additional expansion cards, the motherboard offers a PCIe x1 slot. The four RAM slots support a maximum of 64 GB DDR4-RAM clocked at up to 2.933 MHz and this can be increased up to 3.200 MHz via OC.
An M.2 slot with PCIe 3.0 x4- and SATA6G connectivity is provided by this AM4 motherboard. M.2 SSDs using the advanced NVM-Express protocol (NVMe) and is connected via four PCI-Express 3.0 Lanes, which means they can be up to eight times as fast as SATA 6G hard drives and support data transfer rates of up to 32 Gbit/s.
The ASUS TUF B450M-Plus Gaming offers a USB 3.0 Type C connector along with a USB 3.1 Type A connection. The USB Type C port can be inserted in either orientation and is slimmer than other connectors. USB 3.1 Gen 2 can achieve speeds of up to 10 Gbit/s per port and USB ports that use this standard generally support smartphones and tablets that have quick charge. For CPUs that come with integrated graphics, such as AMD's Raven Ridge APUs, there is an HDMI port and a DVI port.
In terms of special features offered by the ASUS TUF B450M-Plus Gaming, the board comes with TUF GAMING lighting zones. It also offers Japanese audio capacitors for ultra clear and natural onboard sound.

+ Nice looking board and back plate
+ Simple tuning using the BIOS
+ Very stable so far
+ Worked with Ryzen 5 3600 straight out of the box
- GPU covers M.2 socket but I was able to fit a very low profile (3mm) heatsink to my NVME drive.
- I tried to install a Soundblaster Z soundcard in the only (non-GPU) PCIe socket but this basically blocked the airflow from half of the 3 fan setup of my RTX 2070 Super. The full-size board would be better if you plan to install anything below the GPU.
