TUF Z97 Gryphon Armor Edition Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard

TUF is proud to be a leading total solution provider. That means we test more than just the product itself — we examine system durability as a whole. Our motherboards undergo extreme temperature variations (thermal shock), extensive Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) test and many whole-build server-grade stability tests — so you know that your TUF motherboard can be trusted in all conditions..

More than just a cool military-styled cover, TUF Thermal Armor provides boosted airflow for rapid cooling. Reversible-airflow technology blows dust up and away from the heatsink VRM. While the I/O cover fan draws cold air in for extra stability where it counts, helping conduct heat away with the smart shunt design.

Each and every TUF motherboard is built with components certified for military use and undergoes serious server-level burn-in tests, including over 7,000 hours of compatibility checks with over 1,000 devices. TUF is forged solid for your confidence, which is why every board is covered by a 5-year warranty.

Great Mobo

Great motherboard with a plethora of features, 5 months in and I'm still enjoying dipping into the bios, having a tweak (as we do :))..even though I'm stable at 4.5mhz on i5 devils canyon..

If you are looking to build a good stable gaming rig to O/c your devils canyon CPU this is the board for you!!! the bios is so intuitive... As the last reviewer mentioned flash the bios on 1st boot..:)

word to the wise
when building your rig, take some time, to get familiar with all the bags of goodies that this board comes with and use the parts! Cover off unused slots with fittings they provide (word of advice do this 1st!) LOL as the saying goes measure twice 'build' once... but you want to leave only those slots you will use exposed...if anything they keep a bit of dust out aids cooling...(shrugs)...but it justs looks neat once build is done...:)))

in short
Great board
Good overclocker (i5 devils canyon: stable 4.5ghz..for me..can't promise your OC)
Ram choices - seems to pick up ram speeds and timings quite nicely you may need to tweak timings slightly to match manufacturers (if running stock)
Bios - intuitive
Great price
Looks good
you can buy the bare board save a few quid...but why?

Comic relief or worthy?
note a tiny screw on top of board just towards your i/o ports before the labeling on shroud...found that 40mm fan you tossed on sofa saying WTF this for....pop it in there..I read some reviews and decided to use it as an after power down for 20-25secs it spins up (and you can set duration etc in software). Theory being now everything is off just giving that last exhaust of hot air from underneath the armor shroud...

you can discard this however if looking for foundations of a quiet HTPC build

as for the sticker...I stuck on the inside of the door of the case.. :))

can be fiddly if just want to dive straight in before knowing the parts...
Will struggle with large CPU blocks/coolers

Great MoBo, may require BIOS Flash

Brilliant mATX motherboard. Pleasure to build on and I personally love the aesthetics. It also comes with a cool array of utilities and drivers for everything motherboard related. The cooling features are especially good - even comes with Thermistors and a tiny dust fan for super-geeks (me) ;)

BIOS updates are released pretty regularly, definitely recommend flashing on first boot if building from scratch.
Highly recommended.
