What is AMD Fluid Motion Frames?
AMD Fluid Motion Frames is a frame generation technology. It will increase FPS and smooth out your gaming by adding in additional frames in real time. On average, this delivers up to 2.5 times higher frame rates on AFMF supported games. As a result, you can enjoy incredible visual fidelity and better responsiveness.
The latest version is AFMF 2.1, which comes with a range of AI-optimised updates. This improves quality, reduces latency, and facilitates better performance. Better yet, you can even fine-tune settings to best suit your gaming needs!
This tech is integrated with AMD HYPR-RX. As such, you can easily enable AMD Fluid Motion Frames and other performance-orientated features.
Supported Games
AMD Fluid Motion Frame is supported by a wide range of popular titles. This includes:
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Warhammer 40K: Space Marine II
- F1 24
- Forza Horizon 5
- No Rest for the Wicked
How to Enable AFMF 2.1
There are two ways to enable AMD Fluid Motion Frames, depending on whether you have a Radeon RX 6000 Series or RX 7000 (and newer) Series graphics card.
Enable with RX 6000
To enjoy AFMF 2.1 on AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series graphics cards, you will need to enable this feature manually. To do this, open the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition application. Navigate to the graphics sub-tab and look for the gaming section. In here, look for AFMF on the list of features and toggle the slider to “enabled”.
This will activate AMD Fluid Motion Frames on a global scale and apply it across all games. Alternatively, you can choose to enable it on a per-game basis in the Games sub-tab.
Enable with RX 7000 and Newer
The other method is available to all AMD graphics cards that support HYPR-RX Profiles, the AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series and newer. Once again, you will need to open the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition application. This time, select HYPR-RX Profile on the interface. This is a one-click solution that will activate AFMF 2.1 and multiple other features to optimise your gaming.
AFMF 2.1 Hardware Requirements
There are a few hardware and software requirements to run AMD Fluid Motion Frames. Here is what you need from your gaming PC and set-up:
