We are back with our monthly Indie Showcase, where we pick one of the many gems produced by independent game developers and make sure it gets some well-deserved time in the sun. For December, we are taking a closer look at the cosy sim… Spirittea!
What is Spirittea?
If you ever watched Spirited Away and thought “This needs to be a game,” then Spirittea by Cheesemaster Games and No More Robots is for you! This life sim is a beautiful blend of pixel graphics and cosy gameplay that is sure to warm you up these cold December nights.
You play as a human, who has sipped the spirittea and can now see spirits – everywhere! The town is simply crawling with unsettled spirits, who are lost because the people no longer leave them offerings or even think about them anymore. The only thing for it is to open a bathhouse!
With the help of your guide, Wonyan, you’ll get the spirits happy and things under control again. Remember their problems and help get them solved, which may involve anything from making spicy noodles to finding treasure. Befriend the locals and take part in fun hobbies, like bug catching and karaoke. Most importantly, manage your bathhouse so your spirit customers have the best experience and come back for more.
