The events of last year meant we all had to find ways to keep occupied within our homes. Thankfully 2020 was an awesome year for new games and there was plenty of titles to keep gamers busy. Now 2021 is finally here. And this means plenty of developers have already announced the latest games that will soon be coming to PC. Here is the Overclockers Top 10 in order of release.

Hitman 3:

Hitman 3 will be available to play very soon on the 20th of January. This third installment makes improvements to the weapons, gameplay and replayability with larger maps and visual upgrades. Players of the previous games will also be able to import progress and levels at no additional cost.

Prince of Persia: Sands of time Remake:

The original Prince of Persia sands of time game came out in 2003 and now it’s back for 2021 with a release date of March the 18th. The game has had a total revamp with updated graphics, up to date controls and camera angles, a new soundtrack, cinematics and parkour animations. However, you’ll still get the same great story, fun gameplay and charismatic characters. You can get it now on Epic games and the Ubisoft Store.

Resident Evil Village:

The Resident Evil franchise is showing no signs of slowing down and Resident Evil village is the 8th major instalment in the series. The game follows on from the events of Resident Evil 7 biohazard. The village was an escape for Ethan winters but now it holds its own mysteries to uncover as he tries to escape the terrors around him. There’s plenty of terrifying first-person action and a host of new enemies chase you down. We don’t know the official release date just yet but leaks suggest an April release.

Deathloop:

Deathloop is the next game from Arkane Studios. Bethesda Softworks is publishing the game and it will be available on both PS5 and PC. This quirky 1960s shooter plays with time in an interesting way to create some unique and exciting hitman style gameplay. The game was previously delayed back in 2020. However, there is now an official release date to look forward to of May the 21st via steam and the Bethesda store.

Far Cry 6:

Ubisoft’s latest installment in the popular game franchise is rumored to be arriving in April or May. So far, the company has been tight-lipped about the gameplay features. However, I’m sure we can expect a lot more details very soon. Currently, we know the story takes place on a fictional Caribbean island called Yara. Yara has been ruled by a dictatorship for decades and suffered terribly because of it. Dani Rojas is the main character and you can choose to play them as Male or Female. You join the guerilla revolution to rise up and take back your country’s freedom. There’s City’s, Jungles and farmland to explore and this is a game that’s definitely on my wishlist.

Gotham Knights:

Gotham knights is the latest game in the Batman universe and it was announced by developer WB Games Montréal back in August last year. The four main characters are Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin. Each player is able to switch between any of the four characters. You’ll also be able to team up with other people online in co-op mode to take on multiple villains and delve into the mysterious Court of Owls crime group. There’s been no official announcement on the release date just yet but a teaser on twitter has fans speculating on a launch date of July 16th.

Halo Infinite:

Halo Infinite was originally meant to launch alongside Microsoft’s new Xbox series X. However, the events of last year meant it was hit with delays and is now due for release in Fall 2021. The developer 343 said they are spending the extra time to upgrade the graphics, and give gamers the Halo they deserve. You play as the infamous Master chief and fans of the previous games will recognise the familiar weapons and vehicles like the Warthog. Halo Infinite is set to be the main Halo platform for the next 10 years which sounds like the perfect way to consolidate the fan base once and for all.

Ghostwire tokyo:

Ghostwire Tokyo developed by Tango Gameworks’ is due to launch sometime in 2021. The developer is known for its survival horror games like the evil within but Ghostwire Tokyo is a little different. Bethesda is publishing the game and said players can expect an action-adventure game with an eerie atmosphere. The game takes place in an empty, supernatural Tokyo where the ghostly “Visitors” roam the streets and your main weapon is spellcasting. This makes for some unique first-person combat as you take down the spooky spirits.

Dying light 2:

Dying Light 2 was originally meant to release in 2019 before being delayed to Spring 2020 and then finally being delayed indefinitely. However there’s hope on the zombie-filled Horizon with the official Dying light twitter announcing “Survivors, tonight we celebrate! keep your heads up for 2021″. The map is supposedly 4 times larger than the combined maps from the first game and there should be plenty to explore with an adaptive story, excellent replayability and co-op gameplay. There’s no guarantee it will be released in 2021 but we’d hope the developers are nearly finished with this ambitious project and the game will be launched before the end of the year.

Sons of the Forest:

The forest is often regarded as one of the best survival games out there and if you’re a horror fan you’ll be pleased there’s an even creepier second instalment arriving sometime in 2021. You can look forward to new enemies, weapons, updated graphics and a more creative building system. The trailer looks more terrifying than ever and even though this is an early version of the game it shows off some of the great new features and animations.

What other games are coming in 2021?

In our Top 10 list this year we’ve focused on the biggest games coming to the PC platform however there are also many awesome games being released as console exclusives on Playstation and the Switch. You can look forward to a new God of War, Horizon Forbidden West, Ratchet & Clank: Rift apart, Yakuza: Like a dragon, Super Mario 3D world, and many more.
