Represent Team Red: Kolink Observatory Y AMD SE

Fans of Team Red can now show off their appreciation with the Kolink Observatory Y AMD SE Mid-Tower PC Case. A follow on from the Observatory Y we saw recently, this premium chassis can accommodate the latest graphics cards, vertical mounting, and comprehensive water cooling. What sets this model apart is the AMD branding across the framework, making it the ultimate case for an AMD build.

What’s New?

Like its Observatory Y brethren, the Observatory Y AMD SE is a sophisticated blend of tempered glass and steel panelling, sleek in black. The hinged glass door sports the AMD logo centrally, whilst the front glass panel features a bold border with the logo tucked in the top, right corner. Upon the steel, right panel, the AMD logo has been embossed in a glossy contrast to the matte finish. These AMD adornments are subtle yet stylish, and a great way to show your love for Team Red.

Additional changes to the spec include the pre-installed fans. On previous models, it was four 120mm Kolink Umbra fans, whereas the Observatory Y AMD SE uses a mix of 120mm and 140mm fans. The front panel is equipped with three 120mm fans whilst a 140mm fan is mounted on the rear. They are all still Kolink Umbra ARGB fans, which can be configured utilising Kolink’s Umbra RGB Controller with software control.

The final tweak is the inclusion of two USB 3.1 ports on the I/O panel, rather than just the one. Enjoy ultra-fast connectivity, and more of it!

Observatory Y Features

In addition to these new, shiny features the Observatory Y AMD SE accommodates extensive hardware and comprehensive cooling. It is a premium chassis, after all.

Hardware

All about flexibility, the Observatory Y AMD SE can house a wide range of gaming hardware in a variety of form factors. This case is able to mount all the common motherboard form factors, from Mini-ITX all the way up to E-ATX, with seven expansion slots to support your PCIe technology. Covering most models available, there is clearance for a triple-slot graphics card up to 380mm long. Even better, with the help of the Kolink Vertical GPU Kit, you can mount your graphics card vertically, to truly show off that high-end hardware.

Designed with easy access in mind, the PSU shroud is a dedicated chamber with removable panels. This area accommodates an ATX power supply up to 190mm long, with space for the included drive cage, capable of holding either two 3.5” HDDs or 2.5” SSDs. Expanding on your storage options, there are mounts for a further three 2.5” SSDs on the rear side of the motherboard backplate. This tray is also removable to make installation even easier for you. The user-friendly nature of the Observatory Y AMD SE makes this a great case for beginners and enthusiasts, alike.

Cooling

With such impressive support for gaming hardware, the same effort needs to go into the cooling. Kolink have you covered with the Observatory Y AMD SE. Not only does this case have four pre-installed ARGB/PWM fans, but there is further support for more fans and radiators across the chassis. Should you prefer bigger fans up front, the three 120mm fans can be replaced with 140mm fans or even up to a 360mm radiator. Upon the roof are mounts for three 120mm or two 140mm fans, as well as up to a 360mm radiator. Whilst the rear panel holds a 140mm fan out of the box, this mount can be used for a singular fan or radiator, in both 120mm and 140mm form factors.

In addition to this, there is clearance for a CPU cooler up to 175mm tall. The combination of comprehensive support and a spacious interior means that the Observatory Y AMD SE is perfect for dual-radiator water-cooling loops. Ample thermal power for your AMD gaming PC!
