Hitman 3, the epic and creative murder simulator stealth game from io interactive, dropped last January on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, and PC. As we begin year two of Hitman 3, we’re definitely ready to liven things up with some PCVR action.

The Hitman franchise is known for great replayability with a long history of stupendously fun games. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t enjoy sneaking around in the shadows?… Just to be super clear, we mean in-game. Hitman 3 included PlayStation VR support at launch, taking the franchise to the next level and allowing users to get up close and personal with their “takedowns”.

In their Hitman 3, Year 2 announcement video, io interactive confirmed a whole host of new features. Including PCVR support.

“HITMAN 3 launched with support for PS VR, and we’re happy to bring HITMAN VR to PC in January 2022. Full technical details, including the platforms that we’re supporting, will be revealed before Year 2 starts on January 20 2022.”

We’re perilously close to finding out all the details, including minimum requirements and supported platforms which are expected to be announced on January 20.

The year two announcement video shows the game running on both the Meta Rift S and Valve Index. This implies both Steam VR and possibly Oculus Store support. Games playable on the Rift S have brilliant cross-compatibility with the newer Quest series of headsets. This alongside its current popularity make it likely the game will be playable on the Quest 2

Not Just VR

As incredible as VR is, there is plenty more to be excited about in year 2 of Hitman 3. PC Ray Tracing will take lighting and scene detail to the next level. On maps such as Chongqing, under flickering neon lights and with rainstorms and tight alleyways, we’re sure to see some incredible scenery with stunning lighting. What’s more, new maps, storylines and game modes are all on the way, and we couldn’t be more excited.
