Lian Li has built upon the knowledge that was acquired with the previous generations of the Lancool series to bring something rather special to the Lancool III. By moving from a mid-tower design to a full-size tower, the Lancool III brings one major advantage to the enthusiast… space! This internal capacity allows for improved cooling options with room for up to three radiators, a wider choice of internal components like extra-long GPUs, and multiple storage drive mounts. In addition to its stunning appearance, the Lancool III offers amazing cable management options that will enable the cleanest of PC builds.

Cool by Name, Cool by Nature

Straight from the box, the Lancool III has awesome cooling performance, with three 140mm PWM fans up front and another 140mm fan at the rear. This combination will give you exceptional cooling for even the most comprehensive gaming PC.

Never fear, though, if you want to use this case for the true powerhouse you’ve always wanted, the Lancool III has so much potential for cooling. Alongside the four fans that come with the case, you have space for an additional three 140mm fans at the top of the case, and three 120mm fans above the PSU chamber. Furthermore, there are three locations to mount radiators at the top, front, and above the PSU chamber. These locations can each house a 360mm radiator, and they can all be mounted simultaneously for optimum cooling.

Then comes the flashy side of keeping your PC cool, the custom water loop. Starting with the locations for your pumps and reservoirs. There are three locations along the base of the case that can be used for mounting a pump, reservoir, or combo unit. Furthermore, there is a location next to the motherboard that can either be used for a pump or a distro plate.

I don’t see any cables, do you?

So, you’ve picked all your components. Now you’ve got to get them installed! The Lancool III is desperate to show off your amazing building skills with two tempered glass side panels that leave nothing to the imagination. You don’t want a rat’s nest of cables ruining the look. Thus, this full tower case gives you every opportunity to hide all those cables away from prying eyes.

We know that the worst culprits of cable overload are fan controllers and ARGB hubs. The Lancool III has four locations to mount these sources of confusion, which can then be easily covered up behind hinged panels. These same panels are large enough to cover almost two-thirds of the back of the case. That’s enough to cover any number of cable management sins. Plus, with three large Velcro straps and five small Velcro straps, you’ll easily be able to channel all your cables to where you need them cleanly.

Maybe not enough to swing, but enough space to fit a cat

Strangely, with the advances that have come with shrinking technology into smaller and smaller packages, we’ve found that correspondingly, components are growing larger and larger. CPUs and GPUs need larger coolers to maintain peak performance, power supplies need more components to meet the power demands, and motherboards have more and more technologies built into them. Luckily, the Lancool III is able to provide plenty of space for all these components and more.

With a spacious interior, the Lancool III is able to accommodate some of the largest components that are available. For the foundation of your next PC, you can opt for a whopping E-ATX motherboard, and if you choose to air cool your CPU, you can easily fit a tower cooler inside thanks to having 185mm of clearance. Moving on to the star of any PC when it comes to gaming or workflow, the GPU. With 420mm of clearance, the Lancool III is able to accommodate even the longest of long boi graphics cards, with room to spare.

Underneath the main compartment, the power supply has its own chamber dedicated to it. Within this area, you can house a 220mm ATX power supply. Alongside the PSU, there is also ample room for a mix of storage devices. This is down to the fact that this chamber has two modular drive cages that can hold any mix of hard drives or SSDs you could want. Alongside these cages, the PSU chamber can also hold three more drives thanks to a bracket on the right-hand panel. There is also the option to remove this for better airflow.

If you put the IO low (case on desktop) can you actually see the ports clearly and will cables into the ports actually fit?

The I/O is discreet but visible, giving you easy access to both buttons and ports. Provided any connectors aren’t too long, plugging in a USB cable or audio jack shouldn’t be an issue, when located anywhere on a desk. However, longer USB devices, such as a thumb drive, may have some clearance issues between a desktop and the case. This can be negated if you position your case so that your PC’s front panel points towards the edge of your desk.
