CM Storm Trooper Full Tower Gaming Case - Black

CM Storm unleashes a truly magnificent feat of engineering into an arena that represents the future of warfare; the Trooper full-tower chassis. Capable of lightning fast redeployment, it’s the first in its class to include an ultra-strong carrying handle; allowing a gamer to travel with the finest system configurations available with relative ease. CM Storm Trooper includes features that are most coveted by gaming enthusiasts in that it has full dust filter coverage, a fan controller, an external SSD drive hot-swap dock and two uniquely designed modular hard drive cages. These features give CM Storm Trooper the ability to adapt to workstation or water-cooled gaming configurations easily.
CM Storm Trooper exterior features a damage-resistant rubberized coating that will protect the case during transport. Things heat up as gaming becomes more intense. The included front panel connections and controls provide a user with the ability to make on-the-fly changes to fan speed and case LEDs while USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, and audio connections are also provided as an added means of convenience. This is topped off by a 2.5” HDD/SSD X-dock that makes mounting extra drives as easy as loading a Blu-ray/DVD. Changing settings at a moment’s notice becomes a simple matter of a quick button press with CM Storm Trooper.
CM Storm Trooper contains two modular HDD cages which can hold 4HDDs and a120mm fan for cooling each. These modular units can be rotated, front to back, side to side or removed altogether. CM Storm Trooper is the first chassis to allow fully modular hard drive configuration with no modification required. CM Storm Trooper can be equipped with multiple watercooling radiators.
Creatively mounting a vertical water-cooling radiator is possible with the removal of the hard drive cages and panels. CM Storm Trooper has nine expansion slots providing support for multi-GPUs in SLI or Crossfire, space for up to 14 hard drives, and a motherboard tray that supports up to XL-ATX. The Trooper is an ideal mobile arsenal to house and transport the most advanced system and cooling setups.
A professional cable management look is possible by utilizing the myriad cable tie zones and cable management holes available in the CM Storm Trooper. Smarter and larger placements of these areas allow for efficiently routing cables directly to their intended destinations. In an effort to reduce installation times, a great number of hardware can be mounted tool-free via the use of the included locking mechanisms or trays. A very large CPU heat sink retention hole has been placed in the motherboard tray to allow it to be compatible with most types of CPU and motherboard layouts. Prepare for the unexpected as seasoned operative would with a hidden drawer placed behind a false panel. The bottom panel removes to reveal a storage drawer to keep private effects safe from prying eyes until they are needed.

COOOL master

Okay so this is the second case i've purchased from overclockers, they are a touch dearer than elsewhere but I know the service is second to none. I entered wrong postcode on order, sent an E-mail confirming the correct one, made no difference in speed, still recieved it the next working day. Awesome! thanks guys!
Secondly I read it was huge, & right people were, it is! Couldnt decide between this or the HAF X, so glad I bought this one, the pictures dont do it any justice. Its a stunning case. Feels really solid.
The instructions are clear upto wiring, then your pretty much on your own, I just labelled each cable. No problem.

Tonnes of space for everything, cable management is fantastic, Temps are epic, its litterally like sitting next to a fridge!! not too noisy with fans maxed out. Only thing I will say is change the front fans so they suck air in at the front. So simple to do, should have been boxed like it originally.

Anyway you cant go wrong, 5* product & service! Thanks again!

Nice but flawed design

Everything about this case is great except the side panels / filtering.

It has built in dust filters on the front, top and bottom. Sadly the default config for fans is to pull air in through the side panel which is not filtered. So unless you change the disk tray fans to face forward and somehow run a setup that generates a positive pressure via a filtered part it's all pointless. In fact all the dust filters do is increase the amount of dust getting trapped in the system.

Awesome case. The only thing id say is the doors could have been setup a bit differently - its a bit of a pain to get back on sometimes, would have been nice to have a slight hinge or something.

Also someone mentioned the tray in the front - you dont have to screw it in. It comes screwed in yeah, but ive just taken those out and put them inside the tray. Now it slides in and out just fine, and is still covered by the front panel bit. Dont know what the problem is.

Either way, awesome case. I replaced the top roof fan with 2x 120mm spectre pros, but i can still control the speed of everything (2x front, 2x roof, 1x rear) via the buttons on top.

Its also massive, so theres plenty of room for watercooling. Should be able to get 2x 240mm rads in without any sort of mods.

It even comes with an 8pin extension for your motherboard power :)

Just Bought this case the Reviews are awesome such a nice case

Phil 2012-04-29

It's huge!

Bought this case for a new build and it is massive and fairly heavy. Fits a Noctua NH-U12P and a EVGA GeForce GTX 680 with no problems at all.
My only gripes with this case is the space behind the door for cable management which isn't a great deal compared to what reviews have said. It's still a tight fit! My other gripe is the slide out doors, great for opening but a pain in the bum to put back especially the side door for cable management.
Overall though it's a great case and fills my needs for the price it is.

This case not only looks awesome by has some serious mod potential! Big enough to house almost any of today's graphics cards and cpu coolers with space left.
Plenty of scope for watercooling set ups and nice cable tidying facilities to boot.
Possibly the best case I have ever owned (and I've had a few)

As the title suggests i think this case is amazing, i bought it to replace my Antec 902 as i wanted a full tower case and it doesnt get better than this.
It look pure evil which is what you want for a gamers case but not over the top or tacky. It has great air ventilation and superb cable management options. To find out more about it search it on youtube i found a 30 min video that showed it off n is the reason i bought it cant remember link though so search for it if you want :D

Excellent Case

Not sure what the last guys talking about but this case is excellent.

My first build and i found the instructions clear and easy to follow even swapping the HD bays around to allow more air flow into the case.

Keeps all my gear really cool, cpu at 30c, hdd's at 22c

One point, one of the springs that holds the bottom draw in has gone missing so it doesnt clip in properly.

A full size case as useful as a mid size

I done plenty of research, and felt pretty certain that the Cm Storm Trooper (Despite its name) was ideal upgrade.

Without going into my personal requirements for this case that couldn't be achieved, The fact of the matter is the case had left me feeling disappointed for several factors.

1.) The tool box has to be screwed in. Its a nuisance and would have thought it was more practical to have a "clip" in draw like the filters

2.) The filters are nice, Easy to remove. But you may as well not have them as they don't cover all that they should, leaving large gaps at the sides ...pointless!!

3.) Space behind the door for cable management. Many reviews raved about how much room there was so I was very excited about this. However the large amounts of space are entirely due to the shape of the door.

4.) Cant fit push/pull config as handle is in attached in the way... Stupid design.

A. box came in good condition this time. Cant believe you lowered the price right next day :(

Great case

Bought this case recently to replace an old mid tower. The case its self is fantastic it arrived promptly and undamaged. The transfer was fine; the instruction booklet which is needed for switching around the front bay was highly unclear which i why i only gave it a 4 star. The fan speed changer has an annoying beep also similar to a microwave. For any wondering the case comes with an 8pin extension for motherboard power as my PSUs stock cable had difficulty reaching.

Just a quick note. THIS CASE IS HEAVY AND HUGE

Patrick 2012-01-14

top notch

this case is the best that i have seen. really easy to install. i am running 4 graphics cards and a h80 and there is still loads of room. cable management is also very good and there is loads of room behind the rear panel for cable hiding.

Ordered this case a few weeks ago and arrived promptly the next day. It is a beast of a case, able to fit dual GTX 580's in SLI no problem. The HDD tool-less mounts are a great feature, getting rid of fiddly HDD screws. Overall a great case and will be large enough for upgrades in the future.

Cool Coolermaster Storm Trooper!

Bought one of these from OC just a week ago... Got to say it's a high quality case, easy to setup /build. It runs really quiet (compared to a Lian Li pc60)with the default fans supplied. I'm running 2 GPU cards an SSD and 4 HDD's and have had no issue with the cooling (motherboard steady at 36 degrees, GPUs at 42-65 depending on load etc. I reckon this case will give me 5+ years of upgrades without issue.

Quality 10/10 Ease of assembly 9/10 visual look 10/10
