Any VR headset for PC has to drive two high-resolution panels, so it’s no surprise that a beefy PC is required.

Every headset manufacturer sets out its own minimum hardware requirements, but we’ve set out three different levels to point potential users in the right direction.

The first tier mirrors the minimum requirements set out by HTC and Oculus: you’ll need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or an AMD Radeon RX 480. The next tier requires a GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD’s barnstorming Radeon R9 Fury Nano, and the top option demands a GeForce GTX 1080 or a Radeon R9 Fury X.

You won’t just need a high-end graphics card - the rest of the PC has to pass muster. To get the best out of virtual reality gaming you’ll need a quad-core processor and at least 8GB of memory - and an SSD too to slash loading times.

Our range of virtual reality PCs are designed to work perfectly for VR, with customisation options here and there to allow for a beefier CPU, more storage, or higher graphics potential.

Covered with our standard Overclockers UK warranty, you'll get three years as standard, and up to five years if you want to upgrade it.

Offering up both NVIDIA GeForce™ and AMD Radeon™ graphics options, both offer blistering performance for virtual reality gaming and regular 2D gaming.

Whether you need a small form factor system to tuck away and save space, or you have the luxury of being able to have a mid or full tower - there's a system there to tickle your fancy. Below is a small selection of VR ready PCs, but to view the full range click the orange button.

Break the boundaries of reality with the HTC Vive. Explore new and undiscovered lands, travel to distant galaxies, dive to the crushing depths of the ocean, and even travel back in time.

The Vive deliveries a fully immersive experience, with the only limitation being your imagination. With a full 360° world - VR will change how we communicate, learn, train, and entertain.

VR is one of the most exciting things to happen recently in gaming, and virtual reality is only going to get better as these platforms mature - pushing the boundaries of technology and games.

A lower barrier to entry will coincide with better technology throughout. Eye-tracking will enable more precision and better depth of field, screens will increase in resolution, controllers will improve, headsets will get lighter and the options for physical interaction will expand beyond controllers.

VR will continue to enhance gaming – but it’s going to evolve beyond that, too. Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook owns Oculus, and he reckons VR will be the next big computing platform, and “part of daily life for billions of people”.

It’ll be used for watching sports, communicating with friends, playing games and watching movies, virtual travelling, medicine and more.

VR is already changing the world, and it’s only going to continue. We’re sorted – are you ready to take the plunge and buy a VR headset?
