Cooler Master Hyper TX3 CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/AM3/775/1155/1156)

Cooler Master's Hyper TX series has evolved with requirements of current mainstream CPUs. The introduction of Hyper TX3 marks another milestone with Cooler Master's first-ever full compatibility with Intel LGA 1156 socket.

Hyper TX3 is taking basic ideas and simple design while incorporating it with most of the fine points of a decent performing cooler, such as the flexibility to switch from Intel to AMD quickly and easily, the dual fan design to attach another 92mm fan to increase the cooling power. Hyper TX3 also brings back the "original" direct contact heat-pipe design from Cooler Master.

- Flexible mountings for Intel Socket LGA 775/1155/1156 and AMD Socket 754/939/940/AM2/AM3.
- Maximum compatible CPU wattage: over 130W TDP.
- 3 x Direct Contact heat-pipes with aluminum fins to provide excellent heat dissipation.
- Option for adding 2nd fan to increase cooling performance.
- New 92mm PWM fan with wide RPM range and anti-vibration rubber pads.
- Silent CPU cooler at only17 dBA (at minimum speed).
- Easy swappable fan by clips (clips for 2nd fan included).
- Excellent airflow design with compact heatsink dimension.

Pretty good

Considering the price I wasn't expecting amazing results. But it dropped my temp by about 8-10c so I'm hanging around 32c normally. Fitting the fan took sometime. Other then that, I cant complain at all.

P.S My CPU is AMD X2 240 @3.1ghz

keeps my corei3 540 cool at around 30 overclocked to 4.5 permanently. Load, your looking at around 80 max. Just great, no need to spend more. As silent as my friend's watercooling system

Bloody brilliant!

Running an OC'd Athlon II X4 630@1.41v/3.43GHz, and with some MX2 it is idling at 30*c on the lowest speed! What more could you want for

brill cheap cooler

i would buy this again its brill brought my temp down from 45c to 30c

i would buy this defo for my other pc

Good cheap cooler.

Installation a little fiddly on AM3 socket, I would advise attaching the fan first.

Keeps my Phenom II 555 X2 (stock speeds, unlocked to X4) at 32-34c idle and won't go past 54c under Prime95 torture test (20c room temp). It is also remarkably quiet.

I would give 5 stars but the contact surface is not as smooth as it could be.

Great service from Overclockers.

Very good cooler, cooled down my pc from nearly 50 at normal use, down to about 24, abit difficult to get in on my AMD socket 939

Very difficult to install

I bought this yesterday. The fan is supposed to be attached to the cooling tower via two wires.

This is supposed to be done after you have fitted the cooler to the motherboard.

This is nearly impossible to get a good fit.

Once installed this is a great device but the fitting is far more difficult than it needs to be.

I think its good

I got this on my i7 860 CPU, and as far as I know, it works fine. Considering the CM 212 cooler is the best in its class (early 2010), this is just 1 step down from that.

Installation was fine for me, on the 1156 socket, fan went on after the sink was installed, no problem. No board bending, or fin bending, push pin went in easy.

The paste provided is silver based paste, so it was fine. Even know the amount given can't even fill a pen lid, there was plenty, if you are good you can get 3 uses from that. I definitely have enough for another use.

Temp wise, now room temp is 26C and CPU is 36C. Never seen it gone pass 45.

I think it is a very good buy, as long as the price is around

Good value for money

This was the first after market cooler I have ever bought and thus the first one I have ever installed. It was a nightmare. Now this was probably in part due to my newbieness but it was also due to some poor design on cooler master's part. Getting the fan to clip onto the heatsink was really hard and I recommend you attach the fan on the heatsink before you attach the heatsink to the cpu. Also I could only fit it by bending the clips quite substantial, but it seems to be securely on with only slight damage to the fins of the heatsink. Also I don't know if I did it wrong but to have the fan in a sensible location the base of the heatsink does not cover the cpu properly, also the thermal paste supplied is rubbish. Despite all of this it seems to work remarkably well. It is quiet and has reduced idle temps by 5 degrees and load temps by 20C, yes 20C, I was amazed from 60 down to 40 over stock.

I wanted to give it 3 stars, but for the money, the performance the quietness has to be 4.
