The Nepton 240M is Cooler Master’s latest watercooling kit that aims to bring watercooling to the next level. Nepton 240M is using CM exclusive designed pump with effective waterblock. It has thicker and longer tubing for upgraded performance. In addition, dual JetFlo 120 fans + 38mm thick radiator also provide great cooling ability for over 300Watt heat dissipation, which enable user to overclock CPU to maximum performance.

Great bit of kit!

I recently bought this to cool my old, lapped Q6600 as the temperatures were getting a little out of control.
When fitted to an LGA775 socket, it would appear the contact between the chip and cooler is off as my temps rocketed and unfortunately cooked my chip. The screws were tightened up as tight as possible and all the correct fittings used. Sad times but also an excuse to upgrade.

I bought the G2358 as it was cheap and also a 1150 chip so I can swap it out eventually.
On first run the temps were at an incredible 22

Hard to fit, but incredible performance

The instructions are sub-par and really need addressing by Cooler-Master, also one of the screws would not fit into the provided nut/stand-off. However after swapping the four around a bit they managed to match up, and it went on okay, found this a bit strange as it meant that the four screws must all have been different sizes?!

Once fitted I have not had a problem with this cooler, it looks great and performs even better, using some AC mx-4 thermal compound and an overclocked AMD FX-8350 the highest temperature I have recorded was 49 degrees (centigrade obviously). 5-stars for performance but Cooler Master need to sort their customer relations out!

Stand off's destroyed motherboard, Coole

I bought this cooler recently, based on excellent reviews and noise levels.

Sadly the instructions are poor, they do not even mention stand off orientation, looking for burrs, or even checking for clearance between any copper tracking, the stand off, and it's thin plastic spacer held on with gum. Neither does CM's own fitting video.

I fitted as per instructions, and I am pretty sure I orientated the stand offs correctly, but the edge of the upper right stand off between CPU block and motherboard, had cut through the insulation on my motherboard's raised copper tracks, and created a short, destroying my motherboard upon powering the system.

I wrote an email to Cooler Master UK. They did not even bother to reply.

Please be aware that the stand offs need to have the black insulator against the motherboard, but this may not stop the stand off from cutting into the motherboard and creating a short, fit it properly, then remove to check for damage before powering on, re-fitting only if there is no damage, that is if any of your motherboards copper tracks are under your stand off's.
