Crystal 280X Micro-ATX Cube Case - White Tempered Glass (CC-9011136-WW)This Corsair case shines amongst the competition with its clever combination of multiple approaches: a unique aesthetic all of its own, the highest possible degree of convenience and practicality, and all at a remarkable price. This symbiosis is a thread that has extended through all of Corsair's series of cases, from the Obsidian to the Graphite, Vengeance, Carbide - and now the Crystal 280X Micro-ATX case. The dual-chamber principle on which this design is based manifests itself in a front that is divided into two parts, one half consisting of tempered glass and a passively ventilated, closed off section for drives, power supplies and cable management.

Micro-ATX Case with Dual Chamber DesignThis case from Case represents a break with convention, taking the cube-style case design and bringing it into the world of compact cases that hold Micro-ATX- and Mini-ITX boards. Where regular cases are somewhat taller and longer, the Crystal 280X goes wide instead measuring in at 27,6 cm. This is due in part to the dual-chamber construction of the case, something that is immediately apparent from its exterior. The divided front consists, on the left hand side, of a tempered glass panel, and on the right of an enclosed chamber.
The dual-chamber design of the Crystal 280X enables the left chamber to be devoted entirely to the motherboard, expansion cards, fans or radiators, while the chamber on the right can also hold an additional two 3,5" HDDs and three 2,5" SSDs along with a power supply. In terms of cable management, the case provides an abundance of space.
Generous Airflow & One Pre-Installed 120mm FanThe advantage of this case lies in the virtually unhindered airflow available to the left hand compartment, where the air is able to flow from the tastefully crafted front panel behind the installed tempered glass all the way to the back as well as through the base and roof. This results in the motherboard (Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX), CPU cooler, or graphics cards all receiving optimal cooling. In order to keep dust out of the case, magnetic dust filters are attached to the front, roof and base.
Corsair has equipped this case with a 120 mm fan from the factory and installed it in the front. Additional 120- or 140 mm examples can be installed in the roof, bottom and right side. Fans of watercooling on the other hand will be especially interested in this Micro-ATX cube case, especially as a dual radiator measuring up to 280 mm can be installed in the front and a further 280- or 240 mm can be installed in the roof or bottom as well.
Ingenious Space SaverWhichever way you look at it, the main chamber is a real showstopper. The left side of the case offers a tempered glass window and, in doing so, allows users to enjoy a breathtaking view of the hard-earned hardware. The glass panels can also be conveniently removed without resorting to tools. The same goes for 3,5" drives, the four PCI brackets and most of the other components.
The two 3,5" drive bays are located in the left hand chamber and may be reached from the exterior of the case. The three 2,5" drive frames are easily accessible after removing the left side panel. Ideally users will lay all cabling and accompanying watercooling hoses through the rubberised openings in the motherboard tray, which itself also serves the dual purpose of separating the different case compartments. In the right side, in another enclosed compartment, users have access to even more space for stowing away cabling. As for optimal cooling, a fan up to 140 mm in size may be installed.
The remainder of the right side is offers clean and simple aesthetics. Black coated steel surfaces blend elegantly with the tempered glass of the left section. The top of the right section is rounded out with the addition of two USB 3.0 ports as well as audio jacks, power buttons and a reset button.
