A pleasure to use

This is a great keyboard. It takes a little getting used to, especially since this is my first mechanical keyboard and cherry MX reds are the easiest to push. Seriously, there's no actuation force, it's just the spring holding the keys up that stands between you and activating the keys, and you don't even have to push the keys to the bottom to activate them either.

People talk about cherry MX reds being the loudest and, well, I beg to differ. Yes, if you're used to typing on a normal keyboard then you will initially make a lot of noise with a mechanical keyboard on account of them being so easy to push to the bottom. However, I think after a while I'll get used to them and just stop pushing them to the bottom, which means the only noise they'll make is the noise of them being pushed back up to their original position by the spring; a noise completely unrelated to the type of keys they are.

In conclusion I really enjoy the keyboard. Coming from a gamers' perspective, I wouldn't say there's a huge leap in performance between a normal keyboard and a mechanical one, your skill is what defines your performance. That said, games that involve quick double taps (Unreal Tournament, Wildstar etc.) and things like that benefit quite a lot from such easy key presses, but something like Battlefield doesn't really benefit much, other than perhaps a few microseconds (not even miliseconds) quicker reactions on account of there being no actuation force required before the keys activate. Although I would recommend this keyboard, I don't think that if mine broke I'd buy another one. Not for

My first mechanical keyboard

As the title says this was my first mechanical keyboard. I was very unsure about purchasing one as I knew very little about them. I'm glad I took the plunge, well made and looks good. The only slight flaw is no backing lights on the keys but that it a minor thing.
The keyboard is noticably smaller than a standard keyboard (Due to no Num pad) but I don't miss the number pad. I was worried that the keys would be too loud and annoy the Mrs as we have an open planned house. Not too loud at all.
Has my gaming improved since having it? Maybe a little as you have the confidence that the button has been pressed. I would reccomend this product and it's not too expensive compared to other mechanical keyboards.

Surpassed my expectations!

This is my first cherry mx mechanical keyboard and I am very pleased with it. The build quality is very good, very nice design that I don't think the pictures do justice. It has a good sturdy feel and weight to it.

If you are looking for a 10 key-less layout for more space, this is definitely the one to go for.

Dynamite comes in small packages!

This keyboard was purchased at i49 LAN party with Overclockers 'delivery to desk' service. (Very cool!)

So far, I have found it really cool for gaming and my typing has much improved.
It replaced a Microsoft membrane style keyboard which was truly awful for typing.

The Cherry MX Red keys will not suit everyone but they have a nice positive feel.

The compact size is a real bonus for gamers, as you get plenty of desk space back for mouse movement.
The whole thing oozes quality and it has no extra stupid 'gimmicks' which I have found I never used on other keyboards.

I highly recommend this keyboard for the more discerning gamer.

DVDF Ouch!
