Phenomenal piece of kit

Highly recommend you check your read speed after installation.

I was getting only 174MB/s with this connected to my 6G SATA port on the motherboard. Took some time to figure out, but you need to enable the 6G option in the BIOS. With my Asus mobo this option was well hidden under entry called

Fast fast fast!

I love this drive. Its my 1st SSD and I can see myself getting a few more in the future.

A 15 minute install of Win7 and lightning fast boots to the desktop are a joy.

The only thing I dont like is deciding which games to keep on there! As well as my Windows install I have WoW and Crysis at the moment and about 4gb space left over.

If you are thinking of getting an SSD don't think twice, just get one! The performance is AMAZING!

Its very nice

Didn't quite get the speeds I was quite expecting from my C300.

I have linked up in Sata 3/6 on an Asus Striker 2 Formula mobo using an Asus US3S6 adapter card which was a pain to get working at first. Top tip, disable all sata drives via your Bios first, or at least disconnect all sata drives first.

This drive is very fast. Loads Windows 7 like a dream, and I'm into firefox within seconds of the desktop loading (before my LAN is even connected to the web)

Through AS SSD I got scores of

317.79MB/s seq read 69.91MB/s write
29.61MB/s 4k read 51.47MB/s write
140.55MB/s 4k-64 59.30MB/s write
Acc time 0.129ms 0.698ms write

Read 202, write 118

Overall 423

Bit slower than I was expecting from Sata 3

What a difference

I got amazing benchmarking results from this drive using crytaldiskmark.

Sequential Read : 355.731 MB/s
Sequential Write : 75.350 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 320.815 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 43.330 MB/s

This is my 1st SSD drive and I have Win 7 home 64bit installed on it. Windows/office/photoshop and my video editing suite load at INCRDIBLE speed and its a total joy for games with a lot of loading such as Fallout New Vegas.

Only downsides are write speed which is slower than my old SATA 7200rpm hard drives and the face it doesn't come with a mount for a 3.5" HDD slot. This are small gripes though as this is an incredible drive. Write is nowhere near as important for a gamer like me and the joy of loading has never been greater.

its all been said already so ill keep it short.

I load win7 in seconds.

BUY 1 :)

What can I say?

Been wanting an SSD ever since I heard about them, glad I waited a bit for the pound-to-gigabyte ratio to come down a bit though!

Got Win 7 64bit installed in no time, yes this thing is fast! Photoshop CS5 starts in approx 2 seconds. Just having a dilemma working out what should go on here and what shouldn't.

These drives are clearly the way forward...

One word - wow

Wow (yes I know I said it in the title but I'll say it again), this thing is super fast, very impressed.

Not used a SSD before, when I built my new PC initially I went for a normal 1TB Hard Drive as a main drive, now I have since gotten this SSD running on Sata 6 with just Windows 7 64bit and a few apps/games and all photos, music and other games etc I have running from the 1TB hard drive and everything is just running as it should.

The Windows Experience Index rates this hard drive at 7.9 which is the maximum, on my old drive it was the bottleneck of the pc at 5.9 rating.

Windows 7 boots very fast and as soon as desktop is visable (don't even see the welcome screen pretty much) it is useable, so nice being able to go on msn instantly and open IE etc as soon as the pc has booted, I also have Starcraft II running from this hard drive and load times are super fast, just a shame have to wait for others haha :)

SSD is the way forward. Great service again from

Nice SSD

Very fast SSD Drive, I had some problems - windows doesn't seen HDD, but after mobo BIOS update everything is flying now.
I don't bother about Read speed as I'm using this SSD for OS only - read is amazing on SATA 2 (AHCI) 282 Mb/s - great value of money tho.

Pretty Damn Good.

Installed, plug'n'play as expected. Reads, 270Mbp/s, limited by SATAII interface. Writes, 120Mbp/s, probably could be fixed in a firmware update to the controller. For the price the drive is fantastic. I wouldn't recommend updating the firmware, I've seen many people brick their units doing so. My Windows 7 loads in 10 seconds after POST, which is damn fine, instant application loading. It's just fantastic, although I would go for the 128Gb or 256Gb model as they have high write speeds which would put the cherry on top.

Superb Performance for Price!!!

Running this on Sata 3 is fantastic :) Quick load times for Vista and instant desktop functionality and speed from the moment I'm logged in! Can't get much better than this!!!

Crystal Disk Mark Results...

Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 75.121 MB/s [ 18340.2 IOPS]

Was wondering whether to go the SSD route on my new build and it was certainly the best decision I've made :)

Buy one! Buy one now!

I've had this drive for just over a month now and it's superb.

I've got it connected in SATA-III with TRIM enabled and AS SSD Benchmark is showing read/write speeds of 351.23MB/s and 69.13MB/s respectively.

It loads Windows 7 Pro very quickly and has my many apps start up almost instantly when Windows loads. No more waiting around for programs to get going!

The 64GB capacity (60GB within Windows) has allowed me to install Windows 7 Pro, lots of apps, MS Office, Photoshop CS4, Bad Company 2, Crysis and The Sims 3 with 7GB still to spare!

Overall I'd really recommend this drive; it represents comparatively excellent value for money at less than

I just received this today around 2pm, all i can say is wow installed windows 7 64bit in under 15 mins.

Read speeds on sata 2 are around 230mb/s this is faster what i had in a raid 0 with 2 x 7200rpm drives :D

Must buy! though i installed wow and mw2 and still got 15gb left witch will do me.

maybe buy another one, TIME IS FOR SSD!!

Bryn Glew 2010-08-04

Amazing value

Amazing value in comparison to some of the competetion. I am using this as my system drive and I've never seen Windows start so fast.
I want another bigger one now to use as a game drive :)

Matt 2010-07-24

You like fast?

Dropped by overclocker's front desk to day for a headset, saw the SSD leaflets on the desk and decided to enquire. Great support again at the front desk :)

Decided on a whim to go with one of these guys to load games from and oh boy am I glad I did.

These drives are super fast, and work in Windows 7 64bit without a problem.

The drive comes in a A5 sized box, inside you get a simple install guide some foam packing, and the drive in an anti-static bag. No sata/power cable adapter or drive cradle included in this one :) The helpful guys at overclockers opened the drive up before they sold it me to check and as suggested before hand, offered me a mounting bracket.

Install is just like any other drive.

I've not installed Windows on it, and don't intend to really as games are blistering fast with load times and everyone is happy :)

Excellent performance and value.

Excellent little drive. Got it installed with no problems, a great upgrade from a 7200rpm drive.
The price is excellent too, I had been holding out on a drop in price of the Intel X-25M, but having seen the price and performance of this drive, it was an easy choice.

Adrian 2010-06-30

Very fast drive

OK just got my C300 64bit this morning from Crucial. Ran Crystal disk mark 2.2 and getting the following connected to my Sata 2 on my motherboard in AHCI mode, I have orders the asus sata card but hasn't arrived yet.

My old Crucial M225 120Gb drive was getting the following:

Atto on the C300 64bg gives:
Max read 286.178MB/s
Max write 79.891MB/s

So the read is better then my m225, but the write is much slower. Once I get my Sata 3 asus card I will check out the max read speed which should be about 355Mb/s.

As I only use about 46GB of my C drive I will be Changing the M225 128GB for the 64GB C300. As I do not write much on my C drive and all my data in on my 2TB HDD.

I will be getting another one of these drives to put into RAID with the other one.
