Taku Mini-ITX Case / Monitor Stand - WhiteThe Taku from Cryorig, a relative newcomer to the world of desktop PC design, demonstrates that anything truly is possible. Sleek and elegant while remaining functional and expandable, this Mini-ITX case has it all. The inventors at Cryorig have thought through every last detail of this case, making powerful gaming hardware disappear into the case like silver cutlery in a drawer. At the same time, the Cryorig Taku creates a huge amount of space on the desk: the monitor is places on it and the keyboard can be hidden underneath it when not needed. The Taku offers an impressively precise and smartly designed interior alongside a modern and diminutive exterior.

The Taku from Cryorig in DetailDescribing the Taku as a monitor stand doesn't quite do it justice, even though it supports a very heavy screen of up to 15 kg. The stylish Mini-ITX case makes me a sharp contrast to the days of old style desktops, especially when you compare them side by side to the stunning Taku. Its aluminium case maintains a sleek and stylish metallic look while its feet are made of wood. All that's visible on the front is a large power switch, the LED of which also indicates whether the internal drives are currently being accessed.
The I/O panel is situated on the right side of the 14,2 cm high case. There are two USB 3.0 ports as wel as the obligatory audio jacks. Noteworthy are the two narrow inlets on the right- and left of the top of the Cryorig Taku. These can be used, for example, to guide USB cables from the back to the front e.g. to allow you to connect a smartphone. Cryorig's ingenious design helps to keep as much of the desk as free from clutter as possible, furthermore your keyboard can also be stowed away between the stylish wooden stand-offs when not in use.
Intelligent Interior DesignThe special feature of the Taku is the drawer which, thanks to a spring mechanism, opens with a light touch to enable access to the interior of the case. The drawer can be completely removed from the housing by releasing two locks on the rails to accommodate the hardware. Besides the Mini-ITX motherboard, there is also space for a dual-slot graphics card which can be up to 280 mm long, 40 mm high and 134 mm wide. A CPU cooler must, due to the low case height, be at most 48 mm high. The maximum height of RAM modules is also limited to 52 mm, although most modules are lower than this. In terms of power supplies, either SFX- or SFX-L power supplies are compatible. 24-Pin and 8-Pin cable extensions, which need to be laid through the case, are included from Cryorig.
On the left is one slot for a 3,5" hard drive, and two 2,5" drives. There is also space for a single 92 mm fan which Cryorig includes. In the sides, bottom, as well as the rear are holes to enable additional cooling to be installed. Between the individual hardware components is sufficient space to ensure good airflow. Apart from the screws and the included hex key, the Taku also comes with a riser card for the GPU, rubber standoffs for the wooden feet and cable binders. The Taku from Cryorig proves once and for all that desktops can be fashionable as well as functional, without compromising on high-performance hardware to achieve it.
