Great Fan

As everyone else has said this is a very loud fan and I also wouldn't recommend plugging this fan into your motherboard.
I bought This also with an Akasa AK-CB001 Single PSU 4-pin Molex to 4 Fans (CB-030-AK) that works great because it has two cables that decrease the speed to about half RPM and the other two cables put the fan on full blast.

Highly recommended

Ouch

I cannot stress how loud this thing is. I bought it some years ago now (hot summer!) and chucked it in the back of the case. Never hook it to the board, too loud @ max and the draw could fry the headers. I also ordered a large rheo/potentiometer thingy from the US - didn't trust an out of the box one to take the draw this thing wants. Even with it turned down to minimum, you could hear this thing from the other side of the house, with the TV on. You could feel the vibration on the ceiling below! (even hear it outside in my quiet village).
Not to say the cooling power isn't amazing...but the noise was just too much! It has since been retired and sits on my windowsill as a reminder of my sillier days. And I agree with others - beware of the spinning. It sucked onto the side of my case from a horizontal position...and took a bite out of my finger quite happily.
Great...if you happen to require a hearing aid to hear normally. Otherwise, beware!

Noisy

These are loud. The one I had was as noisy as a powerful hairdryer at full pelt, with a similar air flow to boot. Honestly, these are not suitable for a gaming desktop, or any other computing scenario where you'd have to be in the same room. I used a Sunbeam Reobus (spelling?) fan controller with two of these, no problem at all. When they're given 5V as opposed to a full 12V they're still loud, but maybe on a par with other 'high CFM' fans.

If you're in a position where you are considering putting these in a regular desktop, you'd probably be better off with watercooling.
