Foris FG2421 23.5" 240Hz Widescreen Gaming LED Monitor - Black/Red

Experience fluid gameplay free from motion blur with the gaming industry’s first 240 Hz monitor. EIZO’s Turbo 240 converts 120 Hz input signals to 240 Hz for a refresh rate double that of conventional gaming monitors so you can enjoy the smoothest motion display yet for first-person shooter, racing, and other fast-action genres.

Input lag, or the time it takes for commands from a keyboard, mouse, or controller to appear on the screen, can be the difference between hitting your target and missing it. EIZO developed its own integrated circuit to ensure your commands appear onscreen without delay.

Play like the pros with gaming presets from pro gamers such as Counter-Strike legend Patrik “cArn” Sättermon and Dota 2 player Johan “n0tail” Sundstein. Use the bundled software, ScreenManager Pro for Gaming, to download these and other presets from gaming.eizo.com or to export your own presets.

The FORIS FG2421 uses a new VA (vertical alignment) panel with a native contrast ratio of 5000:1. This is 5 times more than what other gaming monitors offer and increases the visibility in dark scenes so you can spot enemies more quickly.

The rear cabinet design features an LED backlit EIZO logo on a glossy surface surrounded by a vermillion frame. The logo glows brilliantly in a dimly-lit room or in a tournament setting. The front cabinet has a simple design so you can focus on the screen.

EIZO’s five-year warranty is two years or 67% longer than the standard three-year warranty of most brands.

I went from a 27" benq 60hz refresh rate moniter to this... it completely blew me away ! The moniter is so smooth with minimal blur. When on 120hz light boost the moniter is smooth and has very little blur at all. When on the 240hz turbo setting there is slightly more blur however it is amazingly smooth ensuring good gameplay. The stock settings to choose from are good. I found that the colours are pretty dull, this can be changed in the user panel so is not a problem. Once colours are changed the screen is really crisp and displays black colours really nicely. The contrast is very different from my old monitor, you can see into black dark areas when playing which is a big advantage. I play lots of csgo and found my awp shots are waaay more consistent now due to the refresh rate and smoothness. Touch wood I have not seen any hatching on the screen or anything that would cause worry. The build quality is nice, I like the fact the screens border is not reflective like most mon!
itors. The monitor looks really nice from behind with the red carry handle and white LED that lights up. Expensive but if you are a serious player then you will see the benefits of the moniter for sure. Worth the spend for sure, awesome product.

Seriously good.

I spent days reading monitor reviews and was going round in circles. And glad I ended up back with the Eizo.
It's so easy to set up. Display port hooked up to a 7850, power cable in, turn on and boom. Your going. 10 mins later and BF3 looks like another game. Smoke is actually smoke, not clumsy clouds. Tracer fire is stunning and quick shooting and aiming is a snap action rather than labored. Dark areas are now your friends due to the contrast, no more guessing if someones hiding.
I have tried the various settings and they all make a difference but have just left it on FPS1 as it seems perfect for all I do. The screen may seem a bit pricey but I know that come my big pc upgrade next year, this will easily take everything I throw at it. Can't wait..

Just received this monitor, I took a bit of a gamble as I knew there were QC issues in the past. However once I turned it on and did some basic calibration, there are no issues whatsoever. It is a beautiful screen. The cross hatching people have been talking about is non existent on the screen I received.

It appears a lot of the problematic monitors were made in Germany. Mine was made in Japan. Thoroughly impressed.

Almost perfect

Kudos to Eizo for bringing a high quality VA panel to the gaming enthusiast scene. Colours, contrast, blacks, and overall image quality (once properly calibrated/fine tuned to your particular tastes) are better than any TN panel I have seen to date. The monitor works very well in both 120Hz and 'Turbo 240Hz' modes too.

The problem for me with this monitor is that there is noticeable cross-hatching ALL OVER THE SCREEN. Basically, this is a series of faint horizontal lines (like this: //////) that anyone with at least a semi-keen eye will notice. Now, once you notice this, you wont be able to unsee it, and it's not something you particularly expect from a 24" monitor that costs well over

Great Little Monitor

Colours are better than TN and nearly as good as IPS monitors. Black levels / contrast ratio much better than any TN or IPS panel I've owned. Viewing angles are slightly better than TN but worse than IPS. A very slight blue sheen is introduced to the colours when you look at the screen off-centre, becoming ever more pale blue as you increase the angle, although black seems to maintain its shade pretty admirably. Motion is less blurry than IPS monitors due to 120 Hz and especially 240 Hz turbo mode, whilst still retaining the benefits above.

I personally can't notice any flickering in 240 Hz turbo mode, but a slight shadowing of the image does occur. What I mean by that is a couple of pixels of a very faint copy of the image (reflection, if you like) below fine light-coloured text or vector art against a solid dark background is visible. It doesn't happen in 120 Hz mode, so you might prefer that on the desktop, although 120 Hz mode brings back a lot of the blurry movement artifacts that you normally get with LCD screens.

Since the pale blue off-centre viewing angles bother me slightly, and the price is rather steep for such a small monitor, I'd have to mark it down to 4 / 4

The BEST Screen Currently Available!!!

First Impressions - WOW!!!

I have 3 of these bad boys and boy do they rock. The picture quality is A1. The colours are just amazing, crystal clear, so stunning and vibrant. The richness and depth of the blacks are just pure too. Gaming wise it's phenomenal, the zero motion blur is outstanding, which improves your aim and ability to spot enemies for on-target shooting. Plus you have an advantage of higher HTz and FPS. Coupled these with some GTX780's in SLi and BAMM - you own the map. PWNing noobs has never been so much fun.

Mine were all plug & play via the Display port, forget DVI & HDMI or the Turbo-Boost feature is disabled. The software is simple and user-friendly too. So DON'T DELAY - GO BUY TODAY! You will not be disappointed at all and these top-notch screen will be the kings for a long time. With my triple screen set-up in portrait at 3240 x 1920 they over-shadow 4K gaming, at half the price - Nuff said. These bad boy's are simply the Rolls Royce of monitors!!! :O)

Great but.......

The monitor is a massive step up from a 120/144htz TN that is without doubt and I would of given the full 5 stars. However the software does not work I am a windows 8.1 user so that may be why that is the case. The display port only started to work when I connected a Dual link DVI cable. When I turn it off and not leave it on standby, the monitor will not find the display port, and I am left with re-connecting the DVI again so the display port will pick up the signal. Then there is what I thought was a bit of dirt on the monitor, a few of the pixels (near the center of all places) are just darker no amount of cleaning will remove it lol. Oh and the power lead likes to jiggle about in comparison to other monitors I have had.........
